Dressrosa

The Dressrosa Arc is the 27th arc of the One Piece manga and anime, and the second arc of the Dressrosa Saga. Following Punk Hazard's escape, the Straw Hats and Trafalgar D. Water Law arrived at Dressrosa to exchange Caesar Clown for Doflamingo's resignation as one of the Sea Warriors. Luffy realizes that there is a contest in which the prize is his brother's Mera Mera no Mi and competes to get it, but they see that it is all a trap orchestrated by Doflamingo to trap and capture them.

The Straw Hat Pirates made an alliance with Trafalgar Law in Punk Hazard to defeat one of the Four Emperors, Kaidou the Beastmaster, but to do so they had to kidnap the former Navy scientist Caesar Clown who was the only one capable of producing a substance called SAD that is used by Donquixote Doflamingo to produce the so-called SMILE, artificial Devil Fruits that grant Zoan-type powers, these fruits are then sold to Kaidou, who is interested in creating an army of at least five hundred Zoan users. Law's plan was to kidnap the scientist and destroy the SAD generation plant and then negotiate with the Warlord of the Sea. In the middle of the whole plan, Luffy and his people wanted to rescue some children who had been kidnapped by Caesar Clown to experiment on and return them to their respective families. All of this was made possible with the cooperation of both sides and the G-5 Marines commanded by Vice Admiral Smoker and Captain Tashigi. After seizing the scientist, the pirates fled Punk Hazard and headed to Dressrosa to destroy the SMILE factory. As the Marines left, Donquixote Doflamingo himself appeared on the island after hearing from a Den Den Mushi the conditions that Law had set for returning Caesar Clown. Doflamingo was about to finish off Smoker when Kuzan stopped him and healed the Vice Admiral. After these events, Doflamingo abandoned his position as Warlord of the Sea as well as the throne of Dressrosa.

Dressrosa's past

The losing gladiators from the previous blocks are taken to an underground level of the Colosseum.[24] Tank Lepanto manages to identify the former King Riku Dold III among the gladiators and an argument ensues between Elizabello II, Dagama, Tank, and Sai. Several toys reveal themselves to be Riku's former army and kneel before him while Sai is taken away by Trebol and turned into a toy. In the Sunflower Field, Hook recounts the cruelty of the Donquixote Dynasty in Dressrosa and the kindness of the Riku Dynasty and the Soldier of Thundering Wrath reveals himself to be Rebecca's father transformed into a toy ten years ago. It is then that the Soldier of Thundering Wrath begins to recount the country's tragic past. Dressrosa was once one of the most peaceful kingdoms in the Grand Line. However, one fateful night; Riku Dold was visited by Donquixote Doflamingo, who proclaimed himself the rightful king of the country and proposed to Riku to buy the kingdom from him for Belly 10,000,000,000 in a period of one night. With the help of the citizens, Riku manages to raise the exorbitant amount of money and immediately, is controlled by Doflamingo and begins to attack the citizens of the country. [26] Meanwhile, Viola, inside the Royal Palace, watches the situation closely and is captured by Monet and imprisoned by the other Donquixote Pirates Officers. Outside, Doflamingo takes control of the royal guard, wreaking havoc across the country and making Riku and his soldiers look like "villains". Eventually, his Supreme Officers defeat the royal guard and Doflamingo defeats Riku, acting as the "people's hero" and taking control of the country in just one night.

Many characters have made appearances after the time skip. The characters (in order of appearance) are: Kuzan, Jewelry Bonney, Brannew, Sakazuki, Bellamy, Jesus Burgess, Sabo, Koala, X Drake, Urouge, Capone Bege, Spandam and Rob Lucci. Someone named "Absa" is responsible for the leak regarding the alliance of the Kid Pirates, the Hawkins Pirates, and the On Air Pirates. Law and Kin'emon say that they want to go to a place called Zou, Law states that his gang is there waiting for him. Kin'emon reveals that he, Momonosuke and two other people, on their way to Zou, were shipwrecked and one of those two people was taken to Dressrosa to work at the SMILE factory and Momonosuke was kidnapped on another ship that was heading to Punk Hazard. The headquarters of the New World Navy is shown. It is revealed that Buggy obtained the title of Warlord of the Sea during the time skip. A seventh, unknown Warlord of the Sea has been named. This is later revealed to be Edward Weevil, supposed son of Whitebeard. Donquixote Doflamingo had the Devil Fruit that Ace ate, the Mera Mera no Mi, and would give it as a prize at the Corrida Coliseum to lure Luffy. It is revealed that Sabo is alive and is a member of the Revolutionary Army. He takes Luffy's place in the coliseum and fights as Lucy for the Mera Mera no Mi. He manages in the finals to win the no Mi and thus inherit Ace's will. It is revealed that Bellamy is still alive after the time skip and is the Donquixote Family's backup in the Corrida Coliseum tournament. His bounty has been raised to Belly 195,000,000. It is revealed that the rest of the Bellamy Pirates died during their journey to Skypiea and that Bellamy gifted Doflamingo one of the golden pillars of Shandora's Golden Bell.

A new race, the Dwarves, is introduced. As the number of intelligent toys are victims of the Hobi Hobi no Mi, they are not strictly recognized as a race. However, they seem to represent a large portion of the population, they cannot be recognized as a new race, as their current physical state is transient. It is revealed that the Toys of Dressrosa were once humans who cohabited with the current citizens of the island but were transformed into toys. The human citizens of Dressrosa have no memory of those who had been transformed into toys.

The Donquixote Pirates (ドンキホーテ海賊団, Donkihōte Kaizokudan?, Spain: "Donquixote Pirate Band") were a powerful pirate gang led by Donquixote Doflamingo,[5] a former member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. They were also known as the Donquixote Family (ドンキホーテファミリー, Donkihōte Famirī?, Spain: "Donquijote Family").[6] The crew was disbanded following the officers' defeat at the hands of the Straw Hat Pirate Alliance, resulting in Donquixote Doflamingo being stripped of the titles of King and Warlord of the Sea. Most of the members were arrested by Admiral Fujitora.[7] Due to their role and actions, they are considered the main antagonists of the Dressrosa arc.

The Donquixote Pirates are a very powerful pirate gang captained by one of the most famous pirates in the world, a member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea who has a bounty of Belly 340,000,000 and was also the king of Dressrosa. Doflamingo, along with many members of his crew (past and present) such as Bellamy, Trafalgar D. Water Law, Monet, Baby 5, Buffalo, Caesar Clown, Jora, Trebol, Mister Pink, Machvise, Violet, Gladius, Diamante, Spade, Sugar and Corazon (secretly), have all eaten a Devil Fruit. In total, the number of members who have eaten a Devil Fruit is no less than seventeen, two of them possess Logia-type powers, it is the largest organization, apart from the Marines, and the second largest pirate crew with the highest number of Devil Fruit users, only behind Kaido's army of five hundred Zoan-type artificial Devil Fruit users. The gang has 2000 members in total. Sugar's Hobi Hobi no Mi's power has been used to transform many of Dressrosa's citizens into toys, making her the most important member of the gang in maintaining complete control over Dressrosa. The Diamond Army Officers represent the gang in the Corrida Coliseum as they are the ones who specialize in combat and it is said that when any of them enter the ring, they have a 100% chance of winning the match every time. But all members of the rank of Officer or higher are said to be very powerful.
