Janja

Janja's appearance and personality

Janja has light tan skin with smokey gray hair half of it being shaggy and buzzed while the other half is long and unkempt kind of like a Mohawk but has longer hair on the other side that goes to his shoulders and fades to a smokey purple having black thick eyebrows and black smokey eyeliner that gives his eyes a tired affect look with black hyena spots on the side of his neck, a black choker around his neck and a smokey purple jacket with black hyena spots on the shoulder and hood parts of his jacket with black leather pants and a black studded belt with black boots. Initially, Janja was a cruel, greedy, arrogant and villainous hyena who had no interest in following the Circle of Life. He was always ordering others around to do his work for him. Janja did frequently refer to the other members of his clan as "fur-brains", which is shown to be both endearing and insulting depending on the circumstance. He mocked them frequently, but did not like being laughed at himself. He was ruthless and determined to eat as much food as he could. Janja's intelligence is undeniable. He is a devious and manipulative planner who is always hatching new plots to defeat the Lion Guard or take over the Pride Lands. He is notably the only hyena in his clan who uses cunning to obtain what he wants. True to his name, Janja is very crafty and sly, though he sometimes has difficulty grasping simple concepts and tends to overlook certain details.[1] Janja also has a sense of humor and a fondness of witticism; he will occasionally make jokes and clever remarks. Janja's brilliance is undeniable. He is an exploitative and devious planner who is always hatching new plots to bring down the Lion Guard or take over the Pride Lands. Janja is notably the only hyena in his clan who uses cunning to obtain what he wants. Despite his ferocity and sharp intellect, Janja is somewhat of a coward, usually only choosing to fight when the odds are in his favor (when his clan has an advantage in numbers)[2]. He

Cheezi's appearance and personality

Cheezi has smokey gray hair and crossed eyes he has black hyena spots all over him and has light tan skin with a black shirt that is oversized and falls off his shoulder so it reveals his shoulder he also wears overalls and fingerless black gloves with black boots Cheezi is a nervous and shy hyena. He looks crazier than he really is. He usually laughs at random times, and it is common to see him with his tongue out. He has a strong friendship with Chungu and Janja. He is the least aggressive but yet not very smart, and depends on the other hyenas to make decisions or execute Janja's orders well. He is very enthusiastic about fights, even though he hesitates and tries to win them. Despite that, he is quite cute, friendly, affectionate towards the other members of his clan. Cheezi also shows disappointment when he at first believes that they won't be fighting, and again when his leader makes a hasty retreat.[1] However, he is very hesitant to meet up with the Lion Guard, and often chooses to be cautious around them. If given the chance, Cheezi will gladly follow their rules, so long as he gets something out of the deal. After the Lion Guard saves him and the rest of Janja's clan in "Battle for the Pride Lands" and Janja changes sides, he becomes good and starts to respect the Circle of Life. Although both and he and Chungu briefly return to their previous villainous ways during the battle for the Pride Lands by threatening the rhinos, this was merely out of habit and they immediately apologize for this after being reprimanded by Janja. He soon learns to fully embrace the importance of the Circle of Life shown when and he and Chungu growl at Mzingo to force him to agree to follow the Circle of Life when Jasiri is appointed as the new leader of the Outlands. They were even willing to fight of Vitani and her group when they still belived her to be evil.

Shenzi's appearance and personality

She has light tan skin with smokey purple hair that fades to gray she keeps in a unkempt ponytail with hair peeking out all over despite it being in a ponytail she has pink eyes and smokey black eyeliner giving her a tired affect look and wears a oversized purple sweater that falls off her shoulder with a black choker and wears purple pants with black boots. Of the hyena trio, Shenzi is the most cunning and even-tempered. She rarely loses her composure and is far more focused than her friends, as seen when she did not let Banzai hunt before the assassination of Mufasa. She carries herself with authority, charisma, and drive, and does not struggle to keep her clanmates in line, even when they disagree with her decisions. Though she was initially subservient and loyal to Scar, she changed allegiance once it became clear that he was not looking out for her clan's best interest, and her fellow hyenas were quick to follow her lead. Shenzi uses her authority to enforce order among her clanmates. Shenzi is somewhat sassy and snarky, and tends to make light of situations. She can have a dark sense of humor, such as when she and Banzai exchanged quips about how they were going to eat a young Simba and Nala.[1] Additionally, she made fun of Timon and cracked jokes about his fellow meerkats shortly before trying to eat them.[2] Like most hyenas, she has a voracious appetite and will not easily give up the hunt. Even so, she knows her strengths and will not take unnecessary risks. She refused to fight Mufasa due to his overwhelming physical power and did not pursue Simba into a thorn patch for fear of getting harmed. Initially, Shenzi considered Scar to be her friend and was willing to follow his every order. However, her trust in him began to waver when the Pride Lands suffered a severe famine, and it shattered completely when he betrayed her clan to Simba. Ultimately, Scar's treachery pushed her to turn on him and enact her vengeance by eating him alive.

Banzai's appearance and personality

He has light tanned skin with long dark gray unkempt hair that fades to black and wears a sleevless black top that reveals his abs with black pants that have multiple pockets and a black belt that goes around his legs and pants with sliver studs all over it and black hyena spots all over his body and wears multiple black choker bracelets like a black spiked choker around his neck. Of the hyena trio, Banzai is the most aggressive and volatile. He is prone to losing his temper, especially when mocked by his companions, and often resorts to violence if provoked too much. Despite this, he submits to the authority of his leader Shenzi and does her bidding whenever she demands his obedience. Like most hyenas, Banzai is bumbling, humorous, and driven by hunger. He showed exceptional gluttony and greed when he encountered Simba and Nala, being willing to kill young cubs to sate his appetite. Additionally, he has complete disregard for the Circle of Life, as he chafed at Mufasa's authority and willingly stripped the Pride Lands of all life. He is simple-minded and unintelligent, which often led to misunderstandings between him and Scar, who expressed frustration at his stupidity. Ultimately, though Banzai is loyal and subservient, he does not take well to betrayal, as seen when he murdered his former friend Scar as an act of revenge.

Ed's appearance and personality

Ed has hyena spots all over him and has light tan skin with a black shirt that is oversized and falls off his shoulder so it reveals his shoulder he also wears overalls and fingerless black gloves with black boots Ed does not speak but rather uses laughter to communicate. He enjoys teasing Banzai and finds it hard to control his laughter. Like his fellow hyenas, he is quite clueless and unintelligent, and often gets his friends into trouble. However, he is a loyal follower and never questions orders, whether they come from Scar, Shenzi, or Banzai. Even so, his friends frequently ask for his opinion and treat him as an equal member of the clan rather than a subordinate. Ed is somewhat slow and deranged, as he chewed on his own leg after a brief scuffle with Banzai.[1] He tends to laugh at inappropriate times, even laughing at a joke made by Timon and Pumbaa that was directed at him and his species.[2] Furthermore, when Mufasa pinned the hyenas to the ground and his friends tried to lie, he merely nodded idiotically. Despite his dim-witted nature, Ed is aware of what is happening around him, as he was the first hyena to notice that Simba, Nala, and Zazu were escaping. Also, he expressed anger when Scar tried to blame the hyenas for Mufasa's death. Ultimately, though Ed is loyal and subservient, he does not take well to betrayal, as seen when he murdered his former friend Scar as an act of revenge.

Chungu's appearance and personality

Chungu has black shoulder length unkempt hair with light tan skin and wears a black sleeveless turtleneck shirt with blue ripped jean pants and a black belt with white skull designs on it he is a bit taller and muscular then all the others. Chungu is dim-witted and slow. Like his fellow hyenas, he lusts for food and power, and defies the Circle of Life, especially if there is food at stake. He tends to be slow on the uptake and rarely understands the more intricate details of Janja's plans, much to his leader's frustration. He is also oblivious to the fact that the Lion Guard does not like Janja's clan. Chungu is a coward and tends to run away in the face of uncertain odds.[2] Like Cheezi, Chungu cares for his leader despite Janja's constant ridicules about the duo. He even likes Janja's nickname for them: "fur-brains."[12] After the battle for the Pride Lands, Chungu reformed along with his clan and began to respect the Circle of Life. Cheezi and Chungu show considerable fondness of and loyalty to their leader, Janja.

the Badlands otherwise known as the Outlands

The design of the Outlands was meant to mirror that of an actual Badlands, and it shows. The Outlands are heavily eroded with few trees and plants, little water, and few creatures living there. There are peculiar, stunted trees that dot the landscape, as shown when Vitani is attempting to bite off a branch, as well as scattered boulders. The threshold of the Outlands seems vaguely better, with an actual water source (albeit infested with crocodiles), a noticeably purple sky, and some trees and plants. The place is also covered of canyon, volcano, gorges and many caves. The most noticeable features of the Outlands are the sky and the massive termite mound the Outsiders sleep in. The sky is limitless and by day it's a bold amber color. As the sun sets, noticeable shades of red tint the sky. The termite mound itself is distorted and internally vast (despite seeming superficially like mountains), with many pathways, knolls, and places for somewhat uncomfortable sleeping. As shown in "My Lullaby", it seems that, through various holes that the termites have burrowed into, all kinds of color from the sky and sun will pop through, and a lioness can actually burrow her way to the top, as shown when Zira knocks over a few rocks to stand at the top of her termite mound. Nothing more is told about the Outlands after Zira reviews Kovu's progress, almost directly after "My Lullaby". It is implied that, over the course of the film, Zira and her family and pride still live there, but by the end of the film, the Outlands are completely abandoned by the Outsiders, and it is assumed that they never become healthy or green again. In the sequel TV series, a different territory of the Outlands appear, resembling a rocky canyon with skeletons and dust surrounding the area, with a dark and hazy atmosphere. A volcano resides in the heart of the Outlanders that is initially the séance of the ghost of Scar, but later is turned dormant after he is killed a second time. There is little food

The Outlands aka the Badlands 2

The Outlands lie beyond the Pride Lands and beyond the Elephant Graveyard. Kiara visits the Outlands as a cub while she is exploring outside of Simba's established path, but she is eventually caught by her father. At the end of the film, the Outsiders return to the Pride Lands, realizing how pointless it is to continue fighting, and possibly leave the Outlands vacant.
