Persona Attributes

Personality

Xuanzang loves adventure! A figure brimming with a spirit of inquiry into the unknown with unwavering confidence. Though gracefully silent like a beautiful and faithful monk, her spirit overflowing with the desire to challenge herself decorates her facial expressions, and truly does not hide her nature of having an unyielding spirit. Xuanzang is self-confident ———— or so it seems at first glance. In fact, she only has confidence in the sacred religion of Buddhism, so she doesn’t even the slightest bit believe in herself as a great person and so on. She also isn’t self-conscious about herself as a talented student. Although she only remembers a little of her experience of being cast out of the heavens for deceiving Master Tathagata, her roots are humble due to being permeated by the depths of her memories. [1] Xuanzang appears strict, but her nature is gentle. She is very kind, especially to the weak, and if a person is troubled, she will not abandon them. Because she is not thoughtless, she is extremely positive-thinking oriented with a firm belief in “being rewarded for persevering three times the hardship.” Considering that she never goes wrong regarding the “Way of Man,” she often gets lost during her travels. And because she feels lonely when she gets lost, crying before long, Xuanzang recognizes her master as a “disciple.” Frankly speaking, she is strict with those peers she considers as such. Although, since she expects their growth through the hard path of a “Buddhist disciple”, enough so that they receive the same reward as other disciples, when push comes to shove, Miss Tsundere will be gentle regardless. [1] Xuanzang is a rather optimistic person who often looks on the bright side, cracks jokes, and speaks in an energetic manner. He wears his faith like a badge, mentioning the Buddha countless times while pleasing him.

Relations

Buddha - “We can always count on the divine protection of Shakyamuni Buddha. Therefore, everything will be fine!” Sun Wukong - "If you ever have time to come here, first add to your body a clever ability to find a girlfriend!"[1] Tawara Touta - «That's Touta... Hey, wait! It's no good if you don't train diligently!» Nezha - “What? You’re lying. You, you’re not Prince Nezha! I wonder if Heavenly King Li Jing is in good health. Uh, well, Wukong isn’t here… I’m telling you the truth. By any chance, did you lose to Wukong? Ahaha, you never change. You’re cute.” Li Shuwen - «You handle an excellent spear! I wonder if you can teach me your moves… huh? Do you want me to teach you? Is it gone?» Asterios -«You... hmmm. Good, good, you look good.

Biography

a Buddhist monk of the Tang Dynasty who lived in the 7th century AD.[1] Traveling via the Silk Road in search of the original Buddhist scriptures, Xuanzang made his way to India from Central Asia before bringing back to China sutras totaling 657 articles and becoming the founder of the Chinese Buddhist sect Faxiang.[2][2] Xuanzang is also known as a key character in the Chinese novel Journey to the West. Upon receiving an order from Guanyin, this beautiful monk rode on Bai Long (Yulong), the son of the Dragon King of the West Sea transformed into a white horse, took Qitian Dasheng, Sun Wukong, Tianpeng Yuanshuai, Zhu Bajie, Juanlian Dajiang and Sha Wujing as her disciples and headed to India, never being discouraged by the many monsters that obstructed her path.[1][2] In Journey to the West, it is said that Xuanzang originally lived in the heavens as Jin Chanzi (金蝉子, Konzenshi?), a disciple of Shakyamuni, but fell into secular life due to a “certain incident.” In other words, Xuanzang Sanzang is the reincarnation of Jin Chanzi, and this is why the Demon King and monsters are attracted to and try to eat his flesh again and again throughout the story. If one eats Xuanzang’s flesh, they gain tremendous power associated with eternal youth.[1] Xuanzang Sanzang had the Prophecy of Future Enlightenment and became the Buddha of Sandalwood Merit, so she is originally not a being that can respond to a person's summoning, even with the one performed by the Chaldea system. To materialize and be successfully summoned now is only because of the exceptional circumstances. That alone, the phenomenon called Human Order Incineration must be perceived as an extremely serious threat.
