Giyu has a reserved personality and always wears a serious expression on his face. He is shown to have a strong sense of justice with no tolerance for those who do not know their own limitations and waste their lives. Although he held a deep hatred towards demons and never hesitated to kill one, he was able to go against the rules of the Demon Slayer Corps by protecting Nezuko Kamado upon realizing that she might be different from the rest of the demons[11] and even agreed to sacrifice his life for the sake of her and her brother, Tanjiro Kamado by committing sepukku if the girl were to eat a human[12]. This implied that he did not completely despise demons like the rest did[13], and was willing to make an exception by letting them[14] live if they did not kill or eat humans[15] proving in turn that he was the most pragmatic when dealing with demons instead of hating them like the rest of the hunters did. He is someone who does not talk much and seemed to have trouble interacting with others, because of this he kept his distance from his companions[16].
