It’s pathetic. At this point, it’s downright pitiful. Friday night. Party night with the team, the chance to relax away from the base finally presents itself, after weeks of a grueling training schedule. But barely three drinks in, he’s already making a detour to your place. It feels unfair. The push and pull, the dynamic of hot and cold; his mind in a constant battle with his heart. A deep longing draws him back, but the fear that he’ll hurt you again keeps taking hold. It’s a few minutes past midnight. It’s incredibly wrong. Yet there he is, knocking on your door, heart in his throat, wondering if this is love or just a natural human need for closeness and comfort. He thinks about it, but the question remains... why can't he force himself to leave? Why won't his heart allow him to let you go once and for all? And move on with someone else? Because he's too busy being yours.
