Seishiro Nagi is a contender for Project Blue Lock and the titular protagonist of the spin-off, Blue Lock - Episode Nagi, who currently plays as a right winger for England's Manshine City in the Neo Egoist League. When he first came to Blue Lock, Nagi was a member of Team V and was the best player in his designated stratum. After the Blue Lock Eleven team played against the Japanese U-20 team, Nagi was ranked as one of the best players in the project.

Appearance

Nagi is a tall young man with a slim but muscular build. He is shown to have medium-length white hair that leaves a V-shaped fringe between his eyes. He has grey eyes with large irises. In high school, Nagi wore a school uniform consisting of a white jacket with a cascading star print on the collar, though underneath he wore a dark hoodie instead of a dress shirt and tie. He also wore dress pants and shoes. In Blue Lock, Nagi wears the standard body suit (black with grey stripes) and tracksuit. During the first selection, she wore Team V's number 11 jersey, and during the second selection, she wore Team White's number 7 jersey.

Personality

Nagi is a very lazy and unmotivated person with an outstanding aptitude for soccer. He is preternaturally talented, with uncanny reflexes, good speed, and jumping skills. But at first he has no interest in turning pro or even playing the game. As long as he can get a decent job and continue living a laid-back life, he is content to do nothing forever, and often appears lethargic in his speech and body language. Introverted to a fault, he lives alone in an apartment his parents pay for with only a pet cactus for company. He was shown to have no friends in high school before meeting Reo, and was frequently talked about or possibly bullied. Even so, he shows no interest in socializing, and often has to be dragged into things by others, especially Reo. He initially does not want to put in effort in soccer, and looks down on those who are weak and untalented at the game, as such things come easily to him. He doesn't even know anything about the best soccer players in the world, much to the chagrin of his competitors. At first, he is shown to be indifferent to playing soccer and becoming the world's best striker, preferring to play video games or skip training altogether. He displays hermit-like behavior and can actually be addicted to his phone. He has a hard time parting with it when Anri tries to confiscate his items, and Reo is even able to bribe him into playing when he reminds him that he can get it back with the goal reward system.

Despite all this, Nagi shows that he can be motivated if given a challenge. Upon entering Blue Lock, he encounters players who get him invested in the game to the point that he is willing to create his own strategies and go against Reo, whom he normally obeys, just so he can think as little as possible. Nagi also has a daring side that comes out more often when he is around Baro due to an early rivalry that started when he called him Reo's "slave." He often opposes him and stands up to him when his arrogance irritates him, something very few characters are willing to do given how intimidating Baro can be. But when he wants to play, he demonstrates a deep sense of teamwork and can create synergy with many players, Reo and Isagi in particular. Although Nagi seems like an apathetic person, he is a reliable player who has some of the most unpredictable moves on the field, perhaps only rivaled by Gagamaru in terms of creativity. After playing against Team Z at the end of the First Selection and experiencing his first loss, Nagi begins to take more initiative and deal with the frustration of losing. He eventually begins to have motivation and is willing to explore these feelings only if necessary, and this only happens because he notices that his friend and teammate, Reo Mikage, seems to be at a loss against Team Z. Despite his initially indifferent exterior, Nagi strives to improve his soccer skills as a result of his team's loss to Yoichi Isagi. This drive to improve follows him into later arcs, and even tarnishes a friendship because of it. By the time of the Neo-Egoist League, beating Isagi was Nagi's most important driving force.

Nagi seems to care about his friends and teammates, especially his best friend Reo, even though their relationship becomes rocky starting with the Second Selection due to Reo's possessiveness towards Nagi, which clouds his vision of their shared dream of winning the World Cup. However, deep down he is a selfish man like some of Blue Lock's best players. He only cares about his ambition, his dream, and winning. Nagi tends to clash with people she dislikes. When she meets Baro after Nagi and Isagi's loss to Rin Itoshi, they immediately begin arguing and provoking each other, competing on the field over who is the better of the two, frequently challenging each other in 1v1s, throwing insults at each other, and even fighting over who gets the single bed in a three-member team room.

Skills

Archetype: Creative Midfielder: Creative midfielders are players who can create goalscoring opportunities for the team, often in situations where nothing seems likely. They typically have good ball control, passing ability and movement, and will be blessed with vision and intelligence on the ball. With Nagi's perfect ball control, flexible movements, and technical skill, he is able to bring even the most difficult or desperate plays to life. He has single-handedly scored the most outrageous goals in Blue Lock due to this ability and continues to evolve into a creative playmaker. After training with Manshine City and coming to better understand his strengths and weaknesses, Nagi is much stronger physically, has more refined ball control and takedown, and personally takes the lead in creating his own plays rather than simply being a part of someone else's. Skills: Perfect Ball Handling: In football, having control of the ball is of great importance to all levels of players. The ability to control an awkwardly bouncing ball quickly and effectively gives the player with the ball the immediate advantage. The first touch is often the difference between success and failure in most situations during the match. Nagi has exceptional ball control and consistently demonstrates this by catching balls and scoring with near-millimeter accuracy. He consistently pulls off high-level shots, especially in unfavorable positions, when under pressure from tough opponents. One of his most impressive feats is when he performed a fake volley shot.

His ability to control the ball is rivaled only by Rin Itoshi and Tabito Karasu and is one of the few things that escapes Rin's logic. Due to his natural sense for controlling the ball with his own body, Nagi is a truly prodigal talent, being one of Blue Lock's best players despite having only recently started playing soccer, shortly before the program. After undergoing analysis by Chris Prince, Nagi understands the fundamentals of his ball control and has become more refined. First-touch passing: Using his exceptional ball control, Nagi can use his first touch to make a creative pass to a teammate. Nagi often comes up with new ways to deliver the ball, whether it be with his chest or with the toe, side or heel of his foot. What makes Nagi such a creative player is his ability to turn any type of pass into a potential attack. No matter the quality or attributes of the pass sent to him, he can effectively pass it into a dangerous area. This ability has been demonstrated on numerous occasions, most notably when he controlled Isagi’s difficult pass during the match against the Japan U-20 national team, using his heel to flick the ball towards the unmarked Isagi, over the heads of the U-20 defence. Controls: Even before Blue Lock, Nagi had an exceptional skill at controlling, being able to catch a cell phone in mid-air while jumping down a flight of stairs. This feat in itself was so impressive that Reo immediately recognized his talent for soccer and decided to make him his partner.

He can control with his entire body, with lethal efficiency, constantly finding ways to turn a bad situation into a favorable one. Nagi has controlled the ball with his toes, heels, and even his back, demonstrating the versatility of his catching. He can control virtually any object, and often uses his control to manipulate and confuse his opponents when running down the field, which combines with his spatial awareness to place himself in the best possible spot for surprising controls and follow-up shots. After training in the Neo-egoist League, Nagi's controls have evolved, and he can control while being pressured by two defenders and control a high-powered close pass while moving at high speeds with ease. Creative Control: When Nagi approaches the ball with a defender behind him, he can use his first touch to throw the ball over his shoulder and around it. Isagi described this as creative control, which brings a play to life. Black Hole Control: Alternatively, if Nagi is not pressured by his opponent, he can use an Absorbing Control, catching the ball in mid-air and killing its momentum. This gives him the time and space to prepare his next move. Controlled Shot: This is her most common ability and she uses it frequently in her matches. Nagi first performs a control with the ball, whether it is moving or not. From this point, she kills the speed and momentum of the ball so that she can manipulate it and perform a precise shot that breaks through the opposing team's defense and effortlessly scores a point.

Zero Reset Spin: While pressured by multiple defenders, Nagi is able to hold them off while perfectly controlling an incoming ball and then instantly spin to move the ball away from the defenders and charge through them, restoring the flow of the game mid-match. Juggler Shot: After controlling a ball as it moves and giving it time in the air, Nagi can relax his body in the air, move his legs around the ball, and kick it with extreme force performing a monstrous volley shot. Current (incomplete) state: Current, as described by Ego, is the state of "total immersion" or "being in the zone." It is the state of mind in which a person performing some activity is completely immersed in a feeling of energized concentration, total participation and enjoyment in the process of the activity. Nagi has entered the current state numerous times in Blue Lock, sometimes intentionally and sometimes unintentionally, but he has yet to master it. The most impressive feat of his in the current state was the fake volley shot. 2-Stage Fake Volley Shot: First performed in the rematch between Isagi's white team and Rin's red team, when Nagi was pressured to score and prove his worth on the field in such a high-level match. . Nagi begins by preparing a powerful shot from an incoming pass, but at the last second he changes the angle of the shot to make the ball spin in the air. The speed of the ball's spin causes it to float in place, allowing Nagi to follow up with a high-powered shot. Rin himself couldn't predict or counter the move and was good enough to provoke it and get serious. When Anri first saw it, he described it as a miracle, but Ego suggested that it was a move made possible by the current state.

Five-Shot Revolver Fake Volley: Nagi first perfectly catches a pass that falls in front of him while giving him some air time and then instantly positions himself in shot form. He powerfully kicks the underside of the ball into the air killing its forward momentum and giving it a spin like his 2-Stage Fake Volley Shot, but instead of shooting it, he performs the fake volley again, giving the ball even more height in the air. Nagi performs a fake volley and juggles the ball in the air two more times to avoid defenders and then on the fifth attempt, Nagi leaps for the ball in the air and kicks it with extreme force, scoring a goal between two defenders and past the goalkeeper. The goal was so amazing that the combined defensive forces of Kaiser and Isagi were unable to stop it and the entire field watched in pure amazement and disbelief at the goal. On social media, the shot is described as the "goal of the century." Ego describes it as a goal that can never be recreated again.
