Devil fruits

Devil Fruits are supernatural fruits that are scattered throughout the world. Any living being who eats one will gain a unique ability at the cost of becoming weakened in bodies of water, resulting in them losing the ability to swim. With one notable exception, beings are limited to acquiring one Devil Fruit power. Devil Fruits are classified into three types: Paramecia fruits grant a vast array of generally "superhuman" abilities; Zoan fruits grant the power to transform into animals; and Logia fruits, the rarest and most powerful, grant the power to transform one's body into a natural element. Each fruit is also given a name based on the power it grants and has a unique appearance, which can be used to identify it. One fruit, in particular, has the honor of having two names and being identified with two types.Devil Fruits are very rare in the world, enough to be considered myths in much of the Four Blues, but they are much more common in the Grand Line and have been consumed by many prominent figures among the Three Great Powers. The abilities they bestow coupled with their rarity cause Devil Fruits to be highly sought-after; single specimens may be valued at up to several billion belly, and extensive efforts have been made to replicate their powers and mass-produce artificial versions for warfare.There are more than 100 different Devil Fruits in the world, but only one of each Devil Fruit exists.After being consumed, a Devil Fruit gives the consumer a superpower or a special superhuman trait, which they will soon become aware of, and the consumer will keep these powers for the rest of their life; it does not appear that powers can be lost except through death. A person who has eaten a Devil Fruit and gained its powers is known as a Devil Fruit User (能力者, Nōryoku-sha?, lit. "Power User" or "Esper").[11] Additionally, all Devil Fruits are known to taste very bad.

Devil fruits

Only one bite is needed for the user to gain the power of the Devil Fruit. Afterwards the Devil Fruit becomes a simple, useless and disgusting fruit. Despite this, the majority of those who have consumed a Devil Fruit have elected to eat the entire fruit, as they appear to be unaware of this fact. Furthermore, the consumer gains the powers and drawbacks of the fruit immediately after the fruit is swallowed, without needing to wait for the fruit to be digested.A person can only eat a single Devil Fruit in their entire lifetime; any attempt to gain a second Devil Fruit power will cause the consumer's body to be blown apart to such a degree that little trace is left of it, resulting in their death. The reason for this is currently unknown; Jabra heard a rumor that an actual devil lives inside each fruit and transfers to a fruit user's body upon consumption, and would fight with the devil inhabiting another fruit if they were to meet within the same body. However, this rumor is said to have been debunked by science.Notably, Devil Fruit powers generally extend through the clothes the user wears. When a Devil Fruit user's body changes in size or shape, their clothing will stretch out and change with them without being any the worse for wear afterwards. When a Devil Fruit power involves the user's body changing in nature, that power also applies to their clothing which will change in nature with them. If a power involves generating a substance, then it can come from the user's clothing. This rule also applies to cyborg enhancements and prosthetic body parts.

Logia

Logia is one of the three Devil Fruit types, being the rarest (discounting "Mythical Zoans") and most powerful. Someone wielding a Logia power can transform their body into an element of nature at will, as well as create and control vast amounts of that element.Those with Logia powers can physically transform into a particular element of nature, on top of creating that element from their body in nigh-endless quantities, to control as they please.Bodies transformed by a Logia ability are completely invulnerable to most attacks, as when they are hit and thus blown out of shape, they will simply reform without any damage, and seemingly automatically at that.[11][12] This applies to both blunt and sharp-force damage, as well as severed limbs and decapitation.[13][14] It is unclear how much conscious control is required to transform one's body to negate attacks; while no Logia user has ever shown difficulty or the inability to bypass attacks, there have been instances both of forceful contact with a user's real body[15][16] and of unwilling transformation into their element.[17] While some Logia types grant elemental bodies that, though invulnerable and capable of seamless regeneration, are still solid[ is one of the three Devil Fruit types, being the rarest (discounting "Mythical Zoans") and most powerful. Logia

In order to generate their substance, a Logia user must first transform part of their body into the substance, which then multiplies as they please; this differs from substance-generating Paramecia users, most of whom can generate substances directly from their physical body or even from thin air. As long as the reproducing substance is attached to the user's body, it is considered part of their body, though it appears that this is no longer the case once the user splits it off.[26] If they encounter their substance in nature, a Logia user can merge with it, and the natural substance will become part of their body as well.[27] The Yami Yami no Mi is a special Logia fruit unlike others. Its darkness transformation is not founded in a naturally-occurring element, but rather takes the form of a black smoke that most closely resembles the darkness of a black hole. The user cannot render themselves invulnerable to enemy attacks, as black holes absorb all things that approach it. Instead, the user has the ability to nullify other users' Devil Fruit powers, as they can simply absorb their enemy's abilities.Additionally, Logia users may lose their intangibility when their bodies come into contact with an element that has a special reaction with their element. When struck by said element, they are affected in the same way as when they are hit by Armament Haki. For example, if the Suna Suna no Mi user comes into contact with a liquid, the sand will stick together or harden, thus forcing the user into a tangible state. Another example is when two Logia users clash and one element is naturally superior to the other

Zoan

Zoan is one of the three Devil Fruit types. This type of Devil Fruit allows a user to transform into an animal species at will, or an inter-species hybrid.Generally, a Zoan ability grants access to three transformations[6] that the user can change between at will. These are as follows:[7] Human Form (人型, Hito-gata?): The user's natural form (provided they are human) prior to consuming the fruit. Human-Beast Form (人獣型, Jinjū-gata?): A hybrid form, combining the bodily characteristics of both the user's original species and the fruit-bestowed species. This form can be rather unusual (sometimes in a bizarre way where the user grows much larger in size). Beast Form (獣型, Kemono-gata?): A form in which the user is fully transformed into the fruit-bestowed species.

Zoan

Zoan is one of the three Devil Fruit types. Fish men

Fish-Men are hominids that possess features of aquatic water-breathing creatures. Each fish-man has traits corresponding to a single type of fish or cephalopod, granting varied powers as squirting ink, possessing more than two arms or legs, growing unlimited sets of teeth, camouflage, and much more, depending on the individual fish-man's corresponding sea creature. All fish-men possess both lungs and gills, allowing them to live both on land and in the sea. Fish-men are said to be ten times stronger than humans from birth; furthermore, their strength is amplified underwater. Fish-men have the latent ability to manipulate water, which can be developed through training in Fish-Man Karate.

Giants

Giants heavily resemble humans, with the clear difference being their massive size; they are the largest known race in the world, with even large humans barely going up to the level of most giants' knees. The smallest giant being 12 meters tall.[2] As a result of their monstrous size, giants possess a tremendous amount of strength, with few people of any other race being able to withstand it. This strength makes them highly coveted as soldiers, and attempts have been made to turn humans into giants, all of which have been unsuccessful so far. Giants originate from lands all across the world, although the most famous giant homeland is the country of Elbaph in the New World.

Minks

Minks are humanoids that possess features of furry mammalian animals. Like fish-men, each mink is connected to a specific animal and often features traits of the animal, such as rabbit minks jumping high and canine minks liking to chew on bones. Male minks almost fully resemble humanized furry mammals that talk and walk on two legs, while females more resemble furry humans with some animal traits. Minks are natural-born warriors and have the ability to discharge electric shocks known as Electro. Minks naturally resemble the hybrid state of human Zoan fruit users. However, there are several differences such as an inability to use Electro and that most minks wear shoes while Zoans in their hybrid state do not. Most of them live on Zou and have no contact with the rest of the world, causing them to be shrouded in mystery, but some of them have left Zou and reside in other places.

Skypieans

Skypieans are the race that settled on Angel Island as well as other islands in the sky. They are also referred to as Sky People (空の者, Sora no Mono?) in contrast to the Shandia, who initially settled on the Blue Sea.[6][7] Skypieans are a mostly friendly folk who try to maintain a comfortable lifestyle. They have a knack for inventing devices that improve their daily comforts, such as Wavers, Dial Boat and harnessing Dials for everyday use, such as cooking, cleaning and entertainment. They greet each other by saying 'Heso' (which is Japanese for bellybutton) often while putting their hand against their head and sticking two fingers up. They seem to have a fondness for angelic themes likely due to their appearance, and even name the head of their government "God" although it's not a position that is taken literally. Their actual religious customs revolve around the reverence of "Vearth" as a sacred substance, although a few individuals have been shown to have a grasp of a more literal idea of God and have been shown praying and commenting on miracles. What sets them apart from the other sky races is that their small wings are pointed upward and the majority of Skypieans style their hair in the form of antennas. This hairstyle is called natural ad balloon hair (天然アドバルーンヘア, ten'nen adobarūnhea?) or nat ad (天アド, ten ado?) for short.[8]

Haki

Haki is dormant in every living person, but most people around the world never even learn about the existence of Haki, let alone how to utilize it. The people who do usually awaken it through proper instruction and intense training. Haki is apparently quite difficult to master.very rare instances, a person can awaken their Haki on their own due to an experience of extreme stress or shock.A person can also make their Haki become stronger, especially when they push themselves and their Haki to the limit and beyond in battles against far stronger opponents.[12] A person's Haki can even grow stronger before that person actually learns to be a Haki user and even before they find out that Haki exists.Despite its great capabilities, the Haki in a person's body is not limitless and it can be depleted from overuse, rendering the user unable to use it for a set period of time while it regenerates.Notably, Haki originates from an individual's spirit and not their physical body, so even if a person's mind is transferred into another body, they would still be capable of using their Haki to the same degree that they normally can, even if the body they transferred into is not a Haki user.Most people who can use Haki tend to have one type that they are better at, and, as a result, focus on training and fighting with that type primarily. However, a person can improve their abilities with all the types of Haki, it just requires more work.[3] Each type of Haki has levels of usage, so even two proficient users might not be of equal strength. Furthermore, it is possible to use at least two types of Haki simultaneously.

Observation Haki

Kenbunshoku no Haki?), which gives the user a sixth sense of the world around them, allowing them to sense the presence, strength, and emotions of other people, even if they are out of sight or far away. It also grants limited precognitive abilities, allowing the user to sense their opponents' intentions and predict their actions and attacks before they happen.[3] An advanced level of Observation Haki allows the user to actually foresee a short period into the future.

Armament Haki

which allows the user to use their own aura as armor to defend against attacks, as well as make their own attacks more potent.[3] It can also be used to bypass Devil Fruit defenses, such as the intangibility of a Logia. A person can apply the armament to a section of their body, over their entire body, and even imbue it onto their weapons.[30][3] A coating of Armament Haki will cause the coated area to turn a shiny black, and a particularly thick and powerful coating will have a flame-like pattern along its edge. An advanced level of Armament Haki allows the user to emit the armament a short distance without a medium.[31] A higher grade of advanced Armament Haki allows the user to make the emitted armament flow into a target's body and destroy it from the inside-out.

Conquer Haki

which grants the user the ability to unleash their own willpower in order to overpower the will of others.[3] This results in victims being mentally overwhelmed by the user, with particularly weak-willed foes instantly losing consciousness. It can also apply pressure onto objects and damage them, a clash between two particularly strong Supreme King Haki users is capable of "splitting the heavens". Unlike the other types of Haki which can be learned by anyone, Supreme King Haki is a rare ability that only one in several million people are born with the ability to use. An advanced level of Supreme King Haki allows the user to infuse their conquering spirit into their weapons and physical attacks, greatly augmenting their power. Only a small handful of the most powerful Supreme King Haki users are able to achieve this.[32] Another advanced level of Supreme King Haki allows for the ability to manipulate one's aura or presence, which negates an opponent's ability to sense the user with Observation Haki.
