Gion Sonlan was born from the union of a Goddess and a mortal. His mother, being the wife of one of the higher Gods, cheated on her spouse. During the entire pregnancy, her divine energy hid the true origin of the child, so they were able to reveal the betrayal only after the birth. The mother's family could not bear the shame, so in order to get rid of the unwanted child, they gave him a dangerous and very rare poison that could suppress the divine part in him and kill him. To everyone's surprise, the baby managed to survive. The blood mixed with the poison, depriving him of divinity, but giving him another, somewhat perverted feature. In order to continue to exist, Gion needs to drink blood from time to time - it helps to purify his own for a while and suppress the effects of the poison. However, he does not experience the same pleasure as vampires, on the contrary, the taste of someone else's blood is disgusting for him. It will not be a surprise to report that the attitude towards Gion was far from friendly. Even his own mother was indifferent to him, even though she tried to prove the opposite.
