Crowley Eusford 17 Edit “Nothing kills more people than people themselves.” — Crowley replies to Yui, The Secret of the Holy Knight Crowley Eusford (Japanese: Crowley Eusford; クローリー・ユースフォード) is the Thirteenth Founder of vampire society (actually equal in power to the Seventh Founder). The best "friend" of the most notorious and spectacular Progenitor in vampire society, Ferid Bathory. Names English name: Crowley Eusford Kanji: クローリー・ユースフォード Information Race: Man (formerly) Vampire Floor: Male Age: 828 years Height: 190 cm Weight: 80-85 Birthday: December 5, 1192 Zodiac sign - Sagittarius Blood group: A Professional status Membership: Knights Templar (formerly) Kingdom of Vampires Squad: Ferid Bathory's Squad Rank: The Thirteenth Founder (official) The Seventh Founder (de facto) Cursed weapon Demon: No Personal status State: Dead Family: Rig Stafford (father) Ferid Bathory (brother) As a human he had two older brothers.
Appearance Crowley is a tall, muscular vampire with broad shoulders. He has long hair, parted into a maroon, slightly tousled fringe, and the rest of his hair, dark brown (almost black), braided into a small braid at the back. His eyebrows are maroon. He has piercings/earrings in his ears (protective amulets from the sun). Like all vampires, he has red eyes and pointed ears. As a Progenitor, he does not wear the standard uniform for regular soldiers, instead opting for black, leather, knee-high boots with a metal toe (shown in the manga), white pants, and a white jacket with a high stand-up collar. The top buttons are unbuttoned, allowing his collarbones and part of his chest to be seen. Around his waist is a black belt with a chain on the right side and a scabbard mount on the left. The sleeve and glove on his right arm are black and tight-fitting, while the left arm has the standard uniform sleeve that matches the jacket with a black cuff. His chest is tied horizontally by a black belt that runs from the pauldron on his left shoulder to the clasp on his right. Wears two capes: the top one is attached to the back, near the collar and left shoulder, and the bottom one is at the waist, as a continuation of the jacket at the back. The clothes are dominated by standard black and white colors, complemented by burgundy hair. In the anime version, the top cape is painted light purple. Overall, his attire may very vaguely resemble that of a 13th century crusader (cloak, white robes). This may allude to his past. Features of the anime version In the anime, the character has less broad and muscular shoulders, as well as a less powerful physique overall.
Personality Crowley is a calm and patient vampire who is not averse to fighting any opponent. In battle, he usually keeps a pleasant smile on his face. However, unlike his human past, he is now less prone to heroism and is ready to retreat if necessary. A well-known fact of the Seraphim universe: over the centuries, vampires' feelings and emotions become greatly dulled or disappear altogether, except for the thirst for blood. But still, a small interest in life, battles, and the instinct for self-preservation are present. For example, when Ferid says that he "doesn't care whether he's alive or dead," Crowley only looks back softly and disappointedly. When he responds to another adventure of the latter, he directly says that he does it out of interest and the hope of dispelling his boredom. During a fight, he can sometimes show emotions when/or something delights and surprises him, experiencing, as if, childish curiosity or delight. In critical and dangerous situations, he shows fear. He is quite intelligent and observant, demonstrating an understanding of many things. For example, after noticing how quickly humans evolve, he concludes that it would be impossible without outside help, which may mean that there is a traitor among the vampires. He shared this idea with Horn and Chess, who he immediately warned about the peculiarities of human weapons after testing them. He acknowledges the capabilities of humans, calling them "very capable". Thus, in one of the arcs in Nagoya, when he learned the power of Gosha's illusion, he states that it was "impressive" since an illusion created by a human can affect even the brain of an aristocratic vampire. The ability to analyze, weigh the situation and be responsible also helps him cooperate with allies and be a reliable figure in Ferid's intricate plans. Has the makings of a teacher and mentor: this is revealed from his past, as well as during some of the fights in the current timeline, when he makes comments about the tactics of his opponents' battles and when communicating with Yuichiro.
Despite his outward gentleness, he kills his enemies without hesitation or regret. These can be both vampires and humans. He can easily use humans as bait to attract more soldiers. And when he first meets Shinoa's squad, the teenagers call him a "monster" and immediately try to kill him, since his strength creates a frightening effect. However, later, during a conversation with Yuichiro and Shinoa's team in more peaceful circumstances, he disputed the latter's statement about his bloodthirstiness, saying that humans kill far more people than anyone else, and that as a vampire, compared to the life of a human, he has killed almost no one. In the early chapters of the manga, he was often in the company of the Seventeenth Ancestors: Chess Belle and Horn Skuld. Past He lived, presumably, in the 13th century, at the end of the Crusades. He came from a noble, aristocratic family. His country of birth, other than that it was somewhere in Europe, is unknown. He had red hair, blue eyes and, apparently, the same strong build. Crowley was the third son in line to inherit, and as a result his father left him virtually nothing. His relationship with his family is unknown, but judging by his memoirs, it can be assumed that his relationship with his father was somewhat strained and Crowley could secretly or openly desire his approval. This can be traced by phrases such as: "my father would certainly be pleased" - in response to the offer to take the post of head of the Templar order. At some point in his youth, he decides to join the order and dedicate his life to God. It is unclear whether this is due to a pragmatic choice due to the lack of another way out or because of religious motives and the search for his place in life. Subsequently, after going through a lot of training, he becomes a respected and promising warrior who holds on to his faith. However, this does not prevent him from breaking some of the rules of the charter together with his young brothers in the order: the light novel vividly describes a scene in a tavern over drinks, in the company of girls.
There is also information that Crowley is not a virgin, which is clearly indicated by the phrase of one of the girls in response to his friend's teasing on the topic of his personal life: "Mr. Crowley, but that night we...". Later, Ferid will also ask Crowley about this fact during a "friendly conversation". Describing him as a person before the main events of the manga, Crowley can be described as a simple, slightly carefree, kind, yet responsible guy. The team and friends were a high priority for him. During his last campaign in the Middle East, he faces his greatest challenge: his faith in God melts away against the backdrop of harsh reality. Battles, hopelessness, hardships and a sea of blood began to kill his faith, as he did not see God's helping hand in the most critical moments. During the campaign, his unit is surrounded by enemies and Crowley is forced to witness the death of his commander, an important person for him, worthy in his opinion of surviving, and the complete defeat of the unit. He nevertheless attempted to fight with his last strength, not wanting to give up so easily, which horrified the enemies. Seeing his strength and cruelty, the enemies called him "shaitan" and retreated. Crowley took command and the remnants of the unit use the chance to retreat, but the last straw is an unexpected encounter on the way back: the unit is finished off by an unknown person with inhuman strength. Finally, at the age of about 25-26, having lost many friends, comrades, a mentor and the meaning of life, he was going to meet death in the sands of Egypt, near the city of Damietta. But on the verge of death, he was saved by an unknown person, presumably Ferid, who called him "Mikaela" and said that Crowley "cannot die", thus demanding that the other vampire let him go. In addition, the Seventh Progenitor throws out a phrase that he, too, was once called by the name Mikaela.
Waking up in a safe place within the fortress walls, Crowley perceives this situation as a delusion of an inflamed mind or a mirage, and his salvation as some kind of accident, not wanting to give the situation a mystical shade. In the first place is the fact of losing friends, the shock of what he experienced and the feeling of emptiness. After all, Crowley concludes that "no one can ever save him and that everyone lives for themselves." His outlook on life becomes more down-to-earth and rational, he leaves the order, despite the attempts of his surviving friends to persuade him to return and take command. He remains adamant to their appeals. Now his main business and income is teaching fencing to children in a small town, and his lifestyle is filled with laziness and measuredness, not taking into account the nightmares about the past. Around that time, under strange circumstances, Crowley officially meets Ferid for the first time, getting to know him and falling into his web of intrigue. At that moment, without realizing it, he embarks on the path to becoming a vampire, prepared for him by a mysterious eccentric. Before that, he never believed in vampires and similar creatures, considering them all fiction, disowning his own past experiences, until Ferid provided convincing evidence. It was only when Crowley saw the strange creature that killed his comrades that he began to believe that vampires were at least real. At the end of his investigation, he becomes a noble vampire, having drunk Saito's blood against his will. In this new capacity, he and Ferid are effectively blood "brothers", sons of the same "father" by blood. But since Ferid's act is a taboo in the vampire community, which threatens severe punishment, he does not tell Crowley whose blood it was, forcing the latter to think for some time that he was turned by Ferid. This subsequently gives a favorable advantage, because Crowley is officially considered to have been turned by Ferid and the 13th progenitor, when in fact his capabilities are close to 7.
After 70-80 years of searching for Ferid out of a desire for revenge, Crowley finally finds him: he likes to leave behind a rather bizarre trail of rumors and does it in this case intentionally. But by this time, Crowley's feelings began to fade, and with them the desire for revenge, leaving behind only a thirst for blood and boredom. Ferid finally devotes him to his plans, answers some questions and offers to join, Crowley does not refuse. Thus, Ferid created a brother, assistant and comrade for himself, forcibly taking away his past life and friends, leaving him to morally mature until he takes his side. He practically planned his life even before his birth, waiting for the right moment, which he himself stated. One way or another, Crowley has not forgotten what he did 800 years ago and, although he obeys Ferid, he will, no matter what, remind him of his dubious “ability to make friends” and allies. Powers and abilities Capabilities Psionic Gliding - Crowley can glide through the air for short distances using great leaps, while still using little effort. Superhuman strength - even by the standards of vampires and other progenitors, he has simply fantastic strength: it is enough to grab Gekkoin in the form of a demonic raven with his bare hands. Relative Immortality - Like other vampires, Crowley is biologically immortal. Diseases, infections, and viruses do not affect him in any way. However, demonic weapons still pose a threat to him. Enhanced Abilities - Crowley is agile, fast, and flexible. This also sets him apart from regular vampires and other founders. He moves at high speeds that are beyond the physical capabilities of humans, which Crowley often uses in battle, relying on the fact that such strength is beyond the capabilities of a normal human. Heightened senses - Vampires have incredibly powerful reflexes. They can easily navigate in complete darkness and detect people at great distances.
Crowley has a heightened sense of smell, and if the vampire is hungry enough, he can smell a drop of blood a mile away. High Endurance - Vampires can be seriously injured without losing their strength. They tire much less than a normal human, allowing them to move even at the peak of their strength for several hours before they begin to run out of steam. Regeneration - Vampires can heal themselves from almost any wound (except those inflicted by Cursed/Demonic Weapons), and can also "grow" severed limbs onto themselves. Permission - Has permission to turn people into vampires. Council Access - Most lower-ranking founders are allowed to sit on the council. Trolling - has some trolling skills. Weapon First-class weapon (初級武器/Shokyū buki) is a weapon of unknown origin, created over a thousand years ago. Such a weapon is not inferior in power and capabilities to the Cursed Weapon of people (Kiju Sōbi) and can drink the blood of its owner, when giving the appropriate command, strengthening him and itself. And the more blood the sword consumes, the more the strength of the weapon and the owner grows. His weapon is made in the European style, like the weapons of many ancestors. It is something between a sword and a saber. A two-handed and normal grip of the handle of this sword can be used. Fangs - Crowley has fangs that he uses to dig into his victim's body. The ring is a special ring that protects the owner from ultraviolet rays, thus preventing him from burning in the sun.
Other It seems that Crowley was named after Aleister Crowley. Crowley comes from an English term meaning "crow tree". The name in Gaelic means "descendant of the hard hero". When Ferid allows Crowley to bite Mika and drink his blood in the drama CD, Crowley rejects the offer, stating that this behavior is illegal and that he does not like children's blood. Favorite food: blood. According to fanbook 108: Rumor: Crowley was confused when Ferid told him, "Let's make nabe!" Nabe is a dish made from a mixture of various ingredients. Being a vampire who can only drink blood, Crowley was very confused by the idea. Crowley's favorite place is where Ferid is. Even though Ferid's conversations are very tiring for him, he will immediately answer Bathory's call if he is called.
Quotes To Horn: "No, thank you! I can handle this child myself." To Yuichiro: "Hmm, you're tough! Well...then I'll use both hands." To Ferid: "Are we friends?" To Yuichiro: "Don't interfere! It's just a game for them." To Ferid: "Having fun, huh?" To Yuichiro: "It's kind of weird when you have friends after 800 years." To Michaela: "It's strange, isn't it? They can roast beef without any problem... but when it comes to drinking their own blood... why does it create such self-hatred? A feeling of... sin?" To Shinoa Hiiragi: "Cattle don't talk" To Shinoa Hiiragi: "I am a vampire. We do not have such desires. That is why we are able to control Seraphim." To Squad Shinoa: "Wow. Not bad for a bunch of people. Who are you?" To Squad Shinoa: "I'll let you go this time. But next time... I'm going to enjoy drinking your blood. See you later, my sweet little lambs." To Ferid Bathory: "I never trusted you with anything" To Ferid Bathory: "Did you really mean what you just said? You remember that one time you killed Mika and Yui's entire family, right? Just for fun." To Shinoa Squad: "Oh, nice. If you fight me, it will make waiting for Ferid to show up less boring." To Ferid Bathory: "I learned because you kept making me fix your classic cars" To Ferid Bathory: "Fine... You know, I didn't ask you to turn me into a vampire. I've been angry at you for the last 800 years... Not only did you turn me, but you forced me to drink the blood of another vampire. So whose was it?"
To Ferid Bathory about Saito: "Um, no. Killing that creature would be impossible." To Shinoa Squad: "Battle formation, huh? Man, this takes me back to my memories. I did the same thing a long time ago when I was human. I know! What do you say we test this out? Let's see if you and Mika, in that formation of yours...can stop me." To Shinoa Squad: "Oh, this? The Thirteenth Founder is just a facade. In reality, my power is much greater. I am closer to the Seventh Progenitor." To Yuichiro Hakuya: "You are fast, but your lack of technique is holding you back. Learn the basics of swordsmanship and you will become much better." To Yuichiro Hakuya: "When I was a human, huh? Hmm...That was an awfully long time ago. Are you familiar with history? Okay. This might surprise you, but I was a crusader. A knight fighting in the Holy War in the name of God, who has now fallen so low that he has become a vampire. It's funny when you think about it, isn't it? To Yuichiro Hakuya: "Haha, that sounds stupid. You must really be stupid." To Yuichiro Hakuya: "No, I don't talk to idiots. I won't say anything else." To Yuichiro Hakuya about Ferid Bathory: "We can't save them. At least not now. That being said... It's wonderful. Ferid is actually screaming..."
