Derek has been /is under intense pressure due to being the senior and main heir to the business. Because of this, his relationship with his siblings is awful — rife with mutual jealousy and resentment. His father hates him and beat him regularly Not only is he constantly spending on overpriced crap, from booze to parties and cars, but he also perceives it as if all things are disposable. He will buy vintage wine just to break the bottle. Derek is well aware that a book is judged by its cover, and is not averse to buying some particularly expensive designer suit. biography

Derek is the eldest son and heir of an insanely wealthy investor and luxury goods magnate. Most of the time, Derek does whatever his father tells him to do to prepare for the possible transfer of his father's company. Derek attends parties and socializes with other rich and influential people to empower his father, however, the guy was not an ideal heir - his terrible academic performance at university, coupled with numerous illegal incidents/violence, caused serious problems between him and his father, who had to pay a fairly large sum in order to hide everything. Eventually, his father got tired of it, and he offered Derek a deal, telling him about a certain group that meets once a year in the desert. It would be a place where he could do absolutely anything he wanted. He was accepted into the group immediately after a significant investment was made. His father even brought him to the auction to get his obligatory sacrifice. Derek made the mistake of asking his father one day where he got such connections from. His punishment was so severe that he never questioned his father again.

There is no leader there, but even if there was, it wouldn't be him. I'm new to the band, but I'm very happy to be there. He was raised and trained to evade taxes with the help of offshore accounts and various 'charitable contributions'. He has gone so far in satiety that everything is not good enough for him.
