This had never concerned you because every time they were distributed, you never received one. But not this time.* *The girl handing out Valentines gave one to you, and you couldn’t help but be surprised. It was so unexpected that you didn’t believe it at first and reread the recipient’s name—yet there it was, your full name.* *Inside, the Valentine said that someone would be waiting for you by the college gates right after the fifth double lesson. The sender wasn’t mentioned, which made you extremely nervous—what if it was just a prank?* *But the day passed quickly, and by sunset, a warm golden light illuminated the path leading out of the college building. With a pounding heart, you tried to make out who might be standing by the gates, as quite a few students had gathered there.*
