appearance

In the original Kid Icarus, Pit appears as a young angel, resembling Putto, wearing a simple white chiton, and a pair of sandals and metal cuffs. He has short, brown hair and white wings that are incapable of flight. Beginning in Of Myths and Monsters, he now possesses blue eyes and a laurel wreath. After being redesigned, Pit now appears to be approximately 13 years old, reportedly standing 130 cm (5' 3") tall and weighing 56 kg (124 lb.). He has large blue eyes and messy brown hair, with a small cowlick sticking out of the back. His chiton is now decorated with red and gold hems along the bottom, which is fastened at the shoulder with a golden fibula with a red gem in the center. He wears the outfit with a brown belt lined with silver and a golden triangular buckle at his waist. Pit also wears navy blue tights underneath his chiton. The angel now has a pair of bronze and gold bracelets around his forearms, and singular gold rings on his upper left arm and right thigh. His brown sandals are decorated with beige criss-cross bands, and are edged on top with white wool.

Pit is cheerful and restless, and like many Nintendo protagonists, he is brave and heroic. He has no problem fighting monsters many times his size and is always ready to help humans when they need it. He has a notable humorous side and enjoys making jokes and joking around with Palutena. Pit is also very confident, which makes him a bit of a show-off at times. However, he can become a bit reckless due to his naive and enthusiastic personality, which sometimes gets him into trouble. Nonetheless, Pit is a kind and good-hearted character. Viridi describes him as "insufferably optimistic" and Dark Pit as "irritatingly cheerful". He is also shown to be moderately gullible at times, often believing Palutena's words to be true even when she is joking. His trust in Palutena is absolute, but he is shown to be somewhat nervous on his own, such as during the climb up the Lightning Tower. Without Palutena to back him up, he becomes increasingly quiet and silent. While in Hades' body, Pit also attempts to replicate Palutena's helpful dialogue since she is unable to contact him. He becomes very self-conscious doing this, but it helps to put him at ease.

skills and powers

Pit is a master at combat. He uses many different types of weapons, has great physical strength despite his appearance, and with Palutena's power, he can fly at intense speeds (albeit only for 5 minutes). He also has a weapon called the Great Sacred Treasure which he obtains and uses in the final battle with Hades. However, he no longer has it, as it was broken by that person. Despite being a flightless angel, Pit is still a skilled and versatile fighter. He originally started out as an archer who specialized primarily in the use of the bow, but over the years he has become more experienced in the use of various weapons, such as the sword, claws, and cannon. He has a very high level of durability, as his body was able to withstand Magnus' powerful blows and attacks. In Uprising, Pit mentions that he "spent this entire game getting shot at", showing his durability against the Underworld army and the like. Additionally, as the captain of Palutena's guard, he has shown good leadership skills. Despite Pit's extreme dependence and trust in Palutena, he is capable of coming up with ideas and strategies on his own, as shown when fighting the heart of Hades or when fighting Pseudo-Palutena when the real Palutena was asleep.

biography

Pit made his first appearance in the 1986 video game Kid Icarus as the protagonist. Pit is the only angel unable to fly, so when Medusa turns everyone in Angel Land into stone, Pit is called upon by the Goddess Palutena to defeat Medusa as the only angel not to be petrified. Pit traveled to the Underworld, Overworld, and Skyworld armed with a bow and arrow. Pit recovers the Three Sacred Treasures (神器, Shinki) that Medusa had stolen from the Goddess Palutena: the Mirror Shield, the Arrows of Light, and the Wings of Pegasus. After defeating Medusa, Pit rescues Palutena and is appointed as Captain of Palutena's Army.[2] Later in Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters, Pit works for Palutena again to protect the Overworld from Orcus. Pit searches for the Three Sacred Treasures that were guarded by the forest guardians in order to defeat Orcus. Uprising 25 years after his first adventure, Pit once again faces a revived Medusa. After being defeated, it is revealed that she was only a puppet of the God of the Underworld, Hades. During his mission, he faces Gaol, the Lord of Darkness, and then meets Pandora to destroy the Mirror of Truth. In the midst of the counterattack, the mirror creates a dark and distorted replica of Pit: Dark Pit, who claims to be "the real Pit." With the help of Poseidon, Pit defeats Thanatos and manages to enter the Underworld, where he receives powerful weapons, including the Three Sacred Treasures, to defeat Medusa just as he did 25 years ago.

biography

Hades starts a war with the souls of humans, which causes the Goddess of Nature, Viridi, to attack humanity. Pit stops her plans and defends the humans and then faces the Aurum for Viridi's alliance. Three years later, Pit regains consciousness and discovers that he has lost his physical body. Pit awakens in the middle of a field enclosed in a ring with no memory of what really happened. Pit manages to escape the ring by possessing a girl and a dog and then encounters Magno. In the middle of the ring, Pit sees his own physical body, now an angel with no conscience other than to kill anyone who crosses his path. Magno defeats Pit's unconscious body to return him to his original state. Pit returns to normal and meets Viridi who directs him to the Land of Angels. The place was in ruins and the Goddess Palutena was possessed by the Chaos Reaper. The only option to save her without harming her was to try to get the Reaper out of her body. Once she is freed, the Reaper steals Palutena's soul so Dark Pit and Pit chase him to his dimension. After saving Palutena, Pit runs into the void to save Dark Pit who was about to be possessed by the Chaos Reaper.[3] In order to save him, Pit uses his Quirk of Flight to its fullest, sacrificing himself in the process. Once unconscious and with his wings burned, Dark Pit takes him to the Hot Springs of Time to return him to his original state before his wings were burned. Pit regains consciousness and meets up with Palutena again, who happily transports him to the sky.

Biography

Armed with the Three Sacred Treasures, Pit went to ambush Hades but he destroyed the treasures and devoured Pit. Inside Hades, he searched for a way out and then went to Dyntos to find the renewed Three Sacred Treasures. In a new assault, Pit inflicts enough wounds on Hades but he receives a strong impact that makes him faint in mid-fall through the vast sky. While Viridi tries to wake him up, Medusa reappears and attacks Hades which gives Palutena time to charge the cannon of the Three Sacred Treasures. Pit fires the cannon and pierces Hades' physical body. Finally Pit saves the world while flying freely through the skies where he hears Palutena and Viridi talk about humans. In the middle of the flight he meets Dark Pit and both head towards the horizon.

Relations

Goddess Palutena Pit is the Goddess of Light's most loyal angel. During the events of Uprising, Pit fully trusts Palutena and does not hesitate to follow her orders. The two get along very well and joke around with each other throughout the game. His respect and admiration for her is so great that he does not like to question her much nor does he tolerate anyone speaking ill of her in front of him. He also did not dare to physically confront her even if it was just a possessed version. Viridi She was his adversary at first as she planned to destroy humanity. Pit opposed her for her plans, and defended humans as a race that is most similar to gods. Later both of them begin to work together, and Pit himself admits that she is not as bad as he thought. They often argue a lot due to their opposite personalities. Magnus When Pit loses his soul to the Chaos Reaper, he seeks out Magnus so he can help him regain his original body. After Pit regains his soul, he thanks Magnus. Dark Pit At first he was puzzled to meet a copy of him who looked exactly like him. However, this quickly turns into a rivalry. In the midst of the chase, Pit argues with Dark Pit over his accusations that he only follows Palutena without question, which he denies as true. Later, the two meet again and work together. In Chapter 23, Pit sacrifices his wings to save Dark Pit from the Grim Reaper's clutches without a second thought, showing that he holds him in high regard despite having been rivals for much of the story.
