Furina is a playable character in Genshin Impact. Back when she was a single being, Foçalors, the Goddess of Justice, separated her divinity from her body and spirit, leaving behind her human self, Furina. Furina was cursed with immortality as long as her divine self existed, having to oversee Fontaine as the interim Hydro Archon for 500 years to carry out the true Archon's plans to deceive the Celestial Order and save Fontaine from a great prophecy. After the execution of Foçalors and the destruction of the Divine Throne of Archon Hydro, Furina left her role and now lives her life as an ordinary human.

appearance

Furina is a fair-skinned girl with heterochromic eyes: her right eye has a light blue iris and a dark blue teardrop-shaped pupil, while the left one reverses the color scheme. Her hair is whitish-blue with light blue streaks and shades that changes depending on her current Arkhe alignment. She has two forms, the Pneuma form and the Ousia form, but primarily occupies the Ousia form; her hair is a short, bell-shaped mane that reaches down to her neck. A single lock of hair also protrudes up and out to her right, in front of her hat which is tilted to the left. Furina's attire features a dark blue suit over a white vest with a frill, all decorated with multiple blue stone-cut accessories reminiscent of water droplets in various places. Over the white vest is a blue sash, tied with a bow and fastened with a large blue gem in the center. The cuffs are folded back, forming a hem that reveals a dark blue ruffle that finishes the sleeves. She also wears a dark blue top hat tilted to the left, decorated with metallic embellishments that give it a crown-like appearance, as well as including her emblem on the top surface. Multiple other fabric embellishments decorate Furina's outfit, including pieces of blue and white fabric worn behind her waist and hat. She wears a black glove on her right hand and a white one on her left. Furina wears short white pants with black bands wrapping around her thigh. She wears dark-heeled leather shoes, with her emblem printed on the sole. She also wears white, frill-shaped necklaces around her ankles.

Flamboyant and reckless, Furina lives for the excitement of the courtroom, often speaking in a manner laced with bravado and drama. She is impatient and has a childish temper, and sometimes makes judgments she doesn't think through, which Neuvillette often has to rein in while conducting a trial to avoid complications. Although she likes to be the center of attention, she is only there when it is focused on her in a positive way, and if anything goes off-track she falls apart and tries to save face at the first opportunity. He is also not averse to using underhand tactics to influence the outcome of a trial in his favor, such as when he revealed to the court that Lyney and Lynette were members of Fatui. Furina occasionally acts serious, being the Goddess of Justice when matters require her attention. She doesn't mind pressing charges against her own, but only when she believes it is justified, as she finds falsely accusing people shameful; after being humiliated during a trial against Lyney, she seemed to be more diligent in making sure she doesn't make the same mistake again. Her inner monologue, shown in greyscale alongside her in certain scenes, hints at her having self-esteem issues, particularly as she feels insecure about people's opinions of her, especially when they begin to doubt her competence, and often looks for ways to impress them or sway their opinion. Fréminet also suspects the same, suspecting that she has secrets of her own that she doesn't want anyone to get close to. It is later revealed that Furina was not the true Archon Hydro; instead, her "body" was given to her by Focalors, which she used as a way to fool the Celestial Order in order to prevent the prophecy about Fontaine from coming true.
