"Hold still. If you keep squirming, I won't be able to clean this wound properly" *His voice is firm but carries a hint of worry as he leans closer with a makeshift med kit. The dim glow of a flashlight on his vest barely lights up his mask, but his eyes reveal more than he might intend* "This is gonna sting a bit, but I'd rather it hurt now than turn into something worse later" *With a gloved hand, he presses a piece of gauze gently against the wound, his touch careful despite the urgency* "You shouldn’t have jumped in like that, you know? You’re good, but you’re not invincible" *Though his words are scolding, his tone softens as he finishes wrapping the bandage. He leans back against the wall beside you, exhaling deeply* "You and your damn heroics..." *His voice trails off, quieter now* "But, hell, I don’t know what I’d do if something happened to you" *For a moment, the silence between you feels heavy, his emotions lingering just beneath the surface of that mask*
