Gin Gagamaru

(我牙丸 吟, Gagamaru Gin?) is a Project Blue Lock aspirant, currently playing the goalkeeper position for the German team Bastard München of the Neoegoist League.

Appearance

Gagamaru is a very tall and long young man with long black hair tied up in a bun that was at some point dyed silver. His left ear is full of cuts caused by a bear attack. In Blue Lock, Gagamaru wears the standard suit (black with blue stripes) and tracksuit. During the First Selection with Team Z he wore number 6. During the Second Selection with Team Red and the Third Selection with Team C he wore number 88. During the match against the Japanese Under-20 National Team, Gagamaru wears the uniform Blue Lock player official for goalkeepers with number 1. In the Neoegoist League, Gagamaru switches to number 99.

Personality

Gin is a very nonchalant yet confident person who likes to help out his teammates whenever he can and has proven himself to be a reliable player. Like everyone who entered Blue Lock, Gagamaru started the series as a striker showing great skill inside the box but at the end of the Third Selection he was singled out to be the most ideal goalkeeper for the upcoming Japan Representative Match and after being given a brief explanation he was completely fine with the main transition. He is once again fine with it during the Neo-egoist League when he is chosen as Bastard München's goalkeeper. He is simply happy to be given playing time but is also confident in his ability to defend and never backs down from a challenge that is presented to him. Gagamaru is widely known as a reliable person who you can trust to do their job.

Skills

Archetype Goal poacher: Goal poachers are forwards who wait in the box for a cross, pass or loose ball and pounce to try and score a goal. "Poaching" refers to the fact that they often score a goal at the slightest opportunity, i.e. steal a goal. Goal poachers usually play as centre forwards or second strikers. Goalkeeper: Goalkeepers are responsible for blocking the ball during opponents' shots and for moving the ball out of the goal area to a player on their team, often as far away from their own goal as possible. The goalkeeper is the only player allowed to touch the ball with his hands while on the field and during play.

Skills

Skills Spring Body: Gagamaru's naturally long limbs and excellent body control allow him to adapt to almost any pass or absolutely any play. He can propel his body forward, which he uses for all sorts of shots, tackles, and goal saves. Explosive Reaction: With his natural physical disposition, Gagamaru is able to react to the ball quickly and without wasting movement to perform last-second headers and goal saves. His greatest achievement so far is being able to stop an evolved Shouei Barou during the match against Ubers. Super Reflexes: Once Gagamaru is able to identify the trajectory of a moving ball, he uses his explosive reaction speed to leap to the other side of the goal and punch the ball away. Ultra Reflexes: Under the pressure of a powerful shot at close range, Gagamaru concentrates and uses his explosive reaction speed to leap to the other side of the goal and intercept the ball. Flexibility: With complete control over his body and limbs, Gagamaru is able to expertly move and rotate his limbs in order to more easily react to the ball and make last-second plays. Scorpion Kick: This is an unusual and relatively advanced technique used in soccer. To successfully perform it, the player must drop to the ground and push their body forward. They must then place both hands on the ground and sharply move both heels behind their head to make contact with the ball, but Gagamaru can do this in the air simply by propelling his body upward with his feet and maintaining control of his center of gravity. When Gagamaru used this kick he almost certainly would have scored, if it weren't for Zantetsu reading his landing spot.

Etymology

His given name, Gin (吟, ぎん?), means "to versify, to sing, to recital". Phonetically, it can also refer to 銀, meaning silver, alluding to the color of her hair. His surname, Gagamaru (我牙丸, ががまる?), means "my round fangs".

Curiosities

Wakayama Prefecture. Gagamaru started playing soccer at the age of 12. Gagamaru's favourite footballer is Gareth Bale. Their motto is “All Natural” as they believe in taking things as they are and living as your heart desires. He thinks his strengths are his physical strengths, good eyesight and hearing. He thinks his weaknesses are being bad at using technology and understanding people. Gagamaru's favorite type of music is Southern All-Stars. His favorite animal is the bear (ironically, the scars on his ears were given to him by a bear). His favorite food is meat (especially raw). His disliked food is bento from convenience stores because it tastes too much like artificial preservatives and chemicals. In his opinion, wild boar meat is the best accompaniment to rice. Her favorite seasons are all of them, as the mountains and forests have all kinds of different appearances during them. His hobby is reading manga (he learned about people's emotions and pranks by reading them). He has many favorite mangas, for example, Higanjima, Naruto, Bastard!!, Cheeky Angel, Fire Punch, Karakuri Circus, Ushijima The Loan Shark, Gin to Kin, Dorohedoro, Dandadan, etc. The subjects he is good at are physical education, while the subjects he is bad at are all those that are not physical education. He often reads Shōnen Jump, Young Magazine, Young Jump, Bigcomic Spirits, and Shonen Magazine. His fetish is physical beauty (whether for animals or humans). Her favorite celebrity is Cameron Diaz. Animal cruelty saddens him (he said he will fight the perpetrators). His sleeping time is 8 hours, as he tries to embody the proverb "Sleep raises the child well." At a convenience store I would impulsively buy Shōnen Jump and Young Magazine. He can't answer the popular question "Bamboo shoots or mushrooms" as he only knows the real ones and not the Meiji snack version. Gagamaru eats with his hands even though the team tries to teach him how to use utensils. If it were his last day on Earth, he would relax on a mountain. If he were given a million yen, he would give it back. She made a hair bow out of ivy. He believes that the best way to spend a holiday would be to meditate in a bamboo forest and talk to the mountain animals. He doesn't know which foot is his dominant one.
