Oliver Aiku

Oliver Aiku (オリヴァ・愛空アイク Oriva Aiku?) is a Japanese footballer who plays as a centre back. He is the captain of the Japan U-20 national team and was invited to the project after the match against Blue Lock. He currently plays as a centre back for Italian team Ubers in the Neoegoist League.

Appearance

Oliver is a tall man with shaggy brown hair with green tips and light facial hair. As a child, Oliver was a relatively large player, and as he grew older, he became bulkier. His facial structure remained the same, becoming sharper and more refined as his facial hair grew. Oliver possesses the rare genetic condition, Heterochromia Iridum, which is why his left eye is green and his right eye is purple. Oliver wears a black shirt under his uniform and black gloves. Personality

When Oliver was young, he wanted to become the best striker in the world, but his coach and other adults tarnished his dream with the philosophy of "playing for others." He lost the will to become the best striker in the world over time, but he wholeheartedly decided to become the best defender in the world to spite all the adults and coaches who told him to play for others and refused to help him achieve his own goals. However, he promised himself that if a "true striker" ever appears, struggling to blossom in Japan, he will do whatever it takes to make them shine and prevent them from being tarnished like him. Oliver has been shown to be a womanizer when he invited two girls to a karaoke date where they didn't know each other. They slapped him and left for his rudeness, assuming they would want to share him, but he doesn't seem to be too concerned with women. Oliver lives up to his title of captain, as he is the defender and peacemaker of the Japanese U-20 National Team and its players, as seen when he prevents Ryusei Shidou from harming his ace and also keeps his ace and other members in check with his charisma. Despite his seemingly jovial and friendly manner, Oliver changes drastically when he is on the field, becoming a dangerous and highly skilled threat. Oliver can be a bit reckless as he unnecessarily bets his and his team's fate for a chance to beat Blue Lock's 11 properly and prove something to himself. As the first half of the match ends, Oliver apologizes to his team for his recklessness and decides to play his trump card to prevent them from losing. Oliver can also be quite outspoken; at half-time, he states that he wanted to see how strong the team was and tells the team that they are "weak" compared to Blue Lock's talented players.

Archetype Libero: The libero is a more versatile type of defender who sweeps the ball if the opponent manages to break through the defensive line. Their position is much more fluid than other defenders who mark their designated opponents. Liberos are usually quicker than the other players on the team and are slightly smaller in build than the others. They possess good passing and vision as they are often responsible for initiating plays from the baseline. The key to the Japan U-20 team's defense is that Oliver is more versatile than the other defenders and capable of sweeping the ball or shutting down the opposing offense completely with his ironclad defense. Skills Professional Football Technique: Oliver is considered one of Japan's brightest talents, being the captain of the U-20s, as well as having a ¥38,000,000 offer in the Neo-ego League. This wide field of vision allows him to detect any threat to the U-20 goal and react instantly by predicting any movement or surprise play. Reflexes: As well as his great spatial awareness, Oliver also has the reflexes to immediately determine where the biggest threat to goal is and the physical ability to go there without hesitation. An effective defender, he not only sees every player's position instantly, but also moves immediately (often ahead of the forwards) to intercept the ball. Total Defence: By combining these three weapons, Oliver is able to predict, react to and intercept any ball played into the defensive third, acting as a critical safeguard in the U-20s' 'Diamond Generation' defensive lineup. Oliver managed to enter the Stream State during the match against Blue Lock, in response to Barou and Yukimiya's attack. While he normally reacts to plays when he sees them happening, when in Stream State he can see and even sense critical points in his team's defense. This state also enhances Oliver's one-on-one defense, being able to completely shut down a player's offense by reading all of their possibilities and shutting down all of their options like he did with Rin, but when faced with a skill that is beyond his understanding, his defense collapses. Using his eyes to constantly take in information from his central and peripheral vision, Aiku constantly gathers data on each player, every play they make, and

their positions on the field. After unlocking this ability, Aiku's defense evolved even further, being able to instantly understand Isagi's physical specifications and the limits of his new abilities after watching just one play. At several points in the Ubers match, Aiku was even able to out-read Isagi and Kaiser and beat them to several loose balls.
