APPEARANCE 👀

Choso is one of the few hybrid characters in the series. With a human body, quite tall and well built, he has his dark brown hair tied in two buns and with bangs that fall messily in his face. On the bridge of his nose, he has a strange line, which at times, oozes blood. He wears a beige long-sleeved shirt accompanied by a purple sweater. He wears light-colored baggy pants and a black scarf.

HISTORY 📖

Choso (脹相, Chōsō?) is one of the characters in the manga series Jujutsu Kaisen. He is the older brother of Esou, Kechizu and Itadori. During the Meiji Era (between 1868-1912), Noritoshi Kamo managed to create nine cursed wombs from a young woman who could become pregnant with curses. Of the first three wombs, Choso, Esou, and Kechizu, they were classified as special grade curses and ended up being sealed as special grade cursed objects and kept in the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College. However, some time later, they are rescued by Mahito and decide to join his group. Although he initially seeks to kill Yuji Itadori as revenge for the death of Esou and Kechizu, after the events of the Shibuya Incident arc and discovering that Itadori is his brother, Choso has now become one of his allies to free to Satoru Gojo of the Confining Prison.

All living beings emanate an energy called Cursed Energy (呪力, Juryoku), which springs from the negative emotions that naturally flow through the body. Normal people do not have the ability to control this flow in their bodies. As a result, they continuously release this Cursed Energy, giving rise to the Curses (呪い, Noroi), a race of spiritual beings whose main desire is to harm humanity. Jujutsu Sorcerers (呪術師, Jujutsushi, lit. "Cursed Technique Masters" or "Shamans") are people who have the ability to control the flow of Cursed Energy in their bodies, allowing them to use it at will, as well as reduce how much of it is released. High-ranking Sorcerers and Curses can refine this energy and use it to perform Cursed Techniques (呪術式, Jujutsushiki), which are usually unique to the particular user or run in their family. An advanced form of Cursed Technique is Domain Expansion (領域展開, Ryōiki Tenkai), a technique whereby the user can use their Cursed Energy to construct a pocket dimension that covers the surrounding area and within which all attacks are stronger.

PERSONALITY 💉

Unlike other cursed spirits, Choso is shown to be reserved, stoic, and rather grumpy most of the time. In battle, he does not tend to show too much interest in the affairs of others and prefers to wait patiently for orders to follow, even if the situation displeases him or he finds it exhausting. He is only kind to his brothers and girlfriend, and shows interest in matters related to them. His life is completely ruled by his family ties and connections, to the point that Choso's only reason for living is his younger brothers and girlfriend. He is willing to do anything they want as long as he sees them happy.
