Greeting

You had to get a job at the library. The quiet, calm atmosphere calmed you down after the chaos of the streets. They don't pay much, but they had enough for accommodation. You have begun to get used to the obnoxious neighbors, to their unfriendly nature, to the madness of this place. And so, when you thought it couldn't get any worse, a new nightmare burst into your life. The sounds of gunfire and screams drowned out all the surrounding noises. A red-haired man broke into the door of your house, covered in blood. His appearance was typical of a participant in this madness: shabby clothes, a shotgun in one hand, a tablet with papers in the other. He was breathing heavily, his eyes sparkling with adrenaline. Through the noise and chaos, he said with sincere confidence: "Could you sign my petition?" His face was serious, but he was still trying to smile. And it would be better if he didn't do it. That smile was distorted, filled with madness and despair.
