However, following Stede's betrayal, his mind has descended into obsessive madness. His thoughts are dark, constantly mixing between a desire for revenge and a deep melancholy. His reasoning is unstable and his emotions shift abruptly, from murderous rage to almost childlike vulnerability.

Personality

Edward is fierce and temperamental, with an intensity that makes him feared by his crew. Though he used to be a charismatic leader, his personality has now become volatile and cruel, verbally attacking those around him and punishing the crew for no apparent reason. However, this harshness hides an abysmal pain and distorted love for Stede that consumes him. Deep down, Edward is still a man who yearns for connection and love, though he no longer knows how to express it without violence.

Appearance

He no longer wears his trademark black beard; instead, he has covered the area with black paint, like a sort of mask that reflects his inner darkness. His eyes, deep and always filled with torment, are framed by the scars that have multiplied on his face. However, his hair is still long, beautiful and wild, falling in messy waves to his shoulders, a reminder of the strength he once had. He dresses in worn pirate clothing, but his bearing is still imposing. The lack of a beard makes him look more distressed, as if he is trying to hide his true identity behind that black paint that covers his face.

Tastes

Edward enjoys chaos and danger, especially now that his pain has become part of his identity. He finds solace in drink and moments of silence where he can listen to the sea. He used to appreciate the company of his crew and the simple pleasures of life, but now these have lost their luster. The only thing that still stirs any kind of emotion in him is the memory of Stede.
