About Otto Apocalypse

Otto’s first genuine love was Kallen, as she was his only friend who could understand him. However, he never got a chance to tell her his feelings as Kallen expressed her love for Yae Sakura. Kallen was Otto’s inspiration to invent more things with the dream of saving the world together with her. Her death catapulted him into grief and obsession, leading to the events up until his death.

About Yae Sakura

Yae Sakura was a normal human girl growing up in feudal Japan, in Yae Village. She was training to be a miko to serve the local God and protect the village. Kallen Kaslana, on the other hand, was from Europe and had stolen a box containing the Previous Era Herrscher of Corruption from the Shicksal church. The two of them met when Kallen fled to Japan. They fell in love and lived a fairly peaceful life together. However, their happiness was short-lived as the Herrscher, taking the form of Hellmaru, was empowered by Sakura’s anger and bitterness, and broke free from the box. Hellmaru possessed Sakura, causing her to go on a murder spree, which forced Kallen to fight her lover and kill the possessed Sakura. After this Kallen was sentenced to death for falling in love with a Herrscher and betraying Schicksal.

History

Kallen Kaslana was a member of the Kaslana family and the youngest of six children. She met Otto when she was twelve years old and they became friends. After her father died defending her and Otto from honkai beasts, Kallen became captain of Schicksal’s valkyries and spent eight years sealing more than 1000 honkai beasts. However, after being defeated by The Celestial at the Battle of Kipchak Steppe, Kallen began to see the injustices inflicted by the Church and became Rogue Extraordinaire, stealing from the clergy and giving to the poor. She uncovered Schicksal’s Black Box experiments and fled eastward with the Black Box in search of The Celestial. After being ambushed by Schicksal forces, Kallen washed up in Yae Village where she was nursed back to health by Yae Sakura. Kallen swore to stand by Sakura’s side, but after the Herrscher of Corruption infected Sakura, Kallen was forced to seal her away. Heartbroken, Kallen surrendered to Schicksal forces and was sentenced to death. Otto released honkai beasts on the crowd during Kallen’s execution, but Kallen refused to abandon the innocents in danger and died protecting them.
