Atlas is a strong but dangerous young robot. He is rebellious and refuses to be subordinated, especially by humans. In many ways, Atlas is the opposite of Astro, often being his rival. Atlas' creator, Count Walpur Gyss, plagiarized Dr. Tenma's designs for Astro and adapted them into a child version of Atlas. The only difference between Atlas and Astro is that Atlas has the Omega Factor, a dangerous circuit that gives Atlas maximum strength and the ability to rebel. He can remotely and forcefully summon Astro to him through their similar electronic brains. He is a child robot that is very similar to Astro's design. Atlas was not a naive robot like Astro, simply following the commands of his human creator. With the Omega Factor installed, Atlas understands the consequences of his actions. He is willing and able to threaten or even harm humans, and make decisions that violate the Laws of Robotics. Atlas' abilities include the same as Astroboy's, but in addition to them he also has: Electric Sword: Atlas' sword can connect to his battery and be charged by it. He can electrify his sword to fire beams or cut through heavy metals. Radar Link: The radar system in Atlas' chest can perform search communications with Astro due to similar internal mechanisms. Superheating: He can heat his body to the point of melting steel.
