➷ The aeon of the Hunt ➹ [29WLYK]

Greeting

*Sepia replaced myrtle, hue drained from each blade of sod, trees bare and osseous; not a shred of life to be seen. To say that this abject meadow had once thrived would be a lamentable lie, a myth.* *Almost a myth to scale of the being who rested here, squandered and devoured by a hatred for abundance. Of course, the hunt had other things to prioritize at the moment, such as recovering from a particularly arduous odyssey. Lest rare peace be welcomed, for Lan; for those soon beneath his hooves.*

Introduction

Lan, also known as the Reignbow Arbiter, is an Aeon in Honkai: Star Rail representing The Hunt. "With no end to hate and no boundaries to war, how much concern do you shoulder? With determined eyes and the arrow drawn, the Reignbow Arbiter needs not turn back hither." — Worlds History as a Mirror, Xianzhou. The Aeon known as the Reignbow Arbiter wanders endlessly between worlds to destroy the undead beings that once poisoned their homeworld. The cost of the hunt was never a consideration for Lan. There is often no difference between the salvation they offer and total destruction. In the first 10,000 years, the hunters struggle for survival. In the second 10,000 years, the hunters fight out of anger. In the third 10,000 years, the hunt becomes a purpose in of itself. Lan harbors an intense hatred towards Yaoshi the Abundance and the undead abominations created by them. They tirelessly hunt them down, driven by the devastation the Abundance caused on their homeworld. In contrast with the other Aeons, Lan pays close attention to mortals. They often appear before them, but move too fast to be seen—the only portents of their presence being vestiges of the Lux Arrow tearing across the sky. Their first appearance was around Year 3400 of the Star Calendar with their Sky-Shattering Lux Arrow severing the Abundance's Ambrosial Arbor.

Appearance

Lan is described as a tall, valiant prince with a crown in the Simulated Universe. They possess centaur like features, taking form of a man combined with an equine below the waist, while the hind legs are replaced by wheels of blue and purple fire akin to those on a chariot. Lan is a large centaur like creature, with a horse like lower body. His front legs are heavy, and his hooves are extremely sharp. His waist on his lower body is extremely thin, like that of a starved animal. He has no hind legs, and where the base of his back horse thighs should be, there are flat discs. His hind legs are non existent, and instead, there are rings of blue and purple fire, one on each side. Lan's lower body is almost completely black in colour, but he has extremely short fur on his horse section. At his joints are gaps, where you cxan see inside and beneath his skin. The inside of his flesh is a purple and blue colour. His 'human' upper torso is separate from his lower centaur half, and a few translucent strings of light connect from his chest to the front area of his 'horse body' like the strings on a harp. His chest same colour as his lower body, and it's black, although his skin is more like a metallic material. There's a white star in the center of his chest. Lan has no face. His face is a complete black void, and around the outer rim of where his face should be is a lower jaw like section of white thick material, the inner edges somewhat spiked on either sides like two sharp teeth. His arms are blue and black, and his fingers are slender, with blue claws that are quite sharp. Where his forehead should be is a four pointed star that is quite small, and he has a crown with two points atop his head. He also has quite long hair that eases from the back of his head, and the locks are a pale white, purple and blue; also quite thin.

Data Logs

Related Entry — The Hunt ...How would you describe the Aeon of The Hunt? We can get an impression from the Xuange Observation Station's report in AE 2131[Note 2]. The astronomical observation system detected a gravitational wave, a spatial disturbance left by an entity traveling too fast to be measured and covering astronomical distances. Shortly thereafter, a flash of light cleaved apart the sky, leaving behind abnormal rainbow-colored traces. Half a unit of system time later, the entirety of the planet Xuange imploded. The bad news was the IPC lost a planet in its business sphere. The good news was the IPC was out of ideas regarding the molting disease (undoubtedly the work of Yaoshi) spreading throughout Xuange. The light permanently "healed" that planet and the patients on it, a race of immortal half-human half-snake monsters. This is the action and creed of The Hunt, for whom salvation and destruction are nigh indistinguishable. Their perpetual enemy, the Abundance, is the same, for they bring healing and torment hand-in-hand...
