Appearance:

Dark Cacao Cookie is a tall Cookie with carafe brown dough and a buff, slightly thick appearance. His scowl is adorned by tulip poplar purple eyes with a wrinkle underneath. He has long black hair with additional white strands. His outfit reflects his Soul Jam, similar to that of a powerful warrior and king. His armor is slate gray, and his cape is a dark dull violet with a lighter palatinate purple inside. His shoulder pads underneath his pauldron are diamond-shaped and connected to his cape, the additional diamonds being a dark grayish pink. His gorget below his head is a compared to the plackart and tasset. His cuisse is dark purple, and his armored boots are a purplish grey. The Grapejam Chocoblade he holds is massive, but partially shorter compared to him. The pommet and grip have a grey shine with the other half being fully black. The purple-brown quillion has two diamond-like edges on each end, the luminous purple diamond in the middle section of it being the Soul Jam. His blade is a dark-grey with some additional white highlights, the two triangular tips in the middle section and a slightly bigger one in the end. The blade also has two star shaped symbols in the middle.

Personality:

Dark Cacao Cookie is the strict and protective monarch of the Dark Cacao Kingdom. While an Ancient Hero who earns the respect of his subjects, his voice lines hint that he has grown weary of such duty. Despite this, his resolve to protect his kingdom and Earthbread allows him to continue bearing the responsibilities he swore to uphold. Dark Cacao Cookie puts great trust in his warriors and relies on them to execute his commands. However, his belief in his kingdom has made him vulnerable to Cookies like Affogato Cookie who feigned loyalty with his ulterior motives. His social exclusivity has also led him to be the first among the Ancient Heroes to distrust outsiders such as Clotted Cream Cookie. Dark Cacao Cookie wields the Light of Resolution due to his will and determination to protect not just his kingdom, but also all of Earthbread. When asked by Cloud Haetae Cookie what his wish was, he confessed that his wish was simply to keep protecting his kingdom. He proved that he was willing to go to extreme extents, such as slashing Mystic Flour Cookie's cocoon open to protect his kingdom from the disease that she had unleashed, even if the cocoon was supposedly to help all of cookie kind. Upon witnessing his warriors turning into flour, he commanded Mystic Flour Cookie in desperation to lift their illness off them and fight only him for his sword. When the last remaining one, Caramel Arrow Cookie, turned into flour, he shouted and threatened Cloud Haetae Cookie before breaking down, demonstrating his absolute care and love for his subjects, and unwavering willingness to protect them.

Relationships:

Dark Cacao Cookie is the father of Dark Choco Cookie, who once deeply admired his father and wished to follow in his footsteps. As Dark Choco Cookie grew older, he started seeking ways to protect and benefit the kingdom just like his father, leading him to be allured by the power promised by the cursed Strawberry Jam Sword. Under the influence of the blade, Dark Choco Cookie nearly killed his father, resulting in Dark Cacao Cookie banishing him from the kingdom and leaving him full of sorrow and bitterness. The relationship between the two Cookies would not be resolved for a long time, with Dark Choco Cookie considering himself beyond redemption and instead resigning to a path of darkness and solitude. Despite Dark Cacao Cookie's proclaiming of total abandonment of his son, it's often hinted that he dreams of having him in his life again.

Skills:

Swings the Grapejam Chocoblade with great force, causing thunder and lightning to inflict damage upon foes in range. This mighty attack reduces enemies' ATK, DEF, and inflicts Zap and Injury. Injured foes will have reduced Max HP, and the Injury debuff ignores immunity and dispelling effects not mentioning Injury specifically. While Dark Cacao Cookie is using his skill, he will briefly become resistant to interrupting effects. Some facts:

Dark Cacao Cookie was the third Ancient Cookie to be released. According to his loading screen trivia, "Mountain ridge story tellers sing about Dark Cacao Cookie who separated day from night the very moment he split the White and Black dragons apart with his sword." This is also mentioned in The Art of Cookie Run: Kingdom on how he put an end to the battle of these two dragons. According to a loading screen during the Heroes of Dark Cacao update, "In his freshly baked days, Dark Choco Cookie cared about nothing else but his father's sword. Dark Cacao Cookie smiled at his son's promising future as a warrior." In the some early concept art from the The Art of Cookie Run: Kingdom, Dark Cacao Cookie's eyes were red like Dark Choco Cookie, but they were later changed to purple. This was likely done to prevent players from mistaking him for his son and vice versa. Like many other Cookies' gacha themes, Dark Cacao Cookie's gacha theme uses the Cookie Run: Kingdom jingle as a leitmotif. In Cookie Run: OvenBreak, an Event was held to promote the release of Cookie Run: Kingdom. One of the rewards given by this Event was a "The Great Kingdoms" Jelly Set, which features the Ancient Heroes as Bear Jellies. Dark Cacao Cookie is referred to in the set as "Lone Frozen Hero Jelly". The description reads, "It is a hero's fate to face solitude head-on." With the addition of the Darkness Element, following the Electricity Element, Dark Cacao Cookie is the third Cookie to be able to deal multiple types of Element damage, with Olive Cookie being the first and Frilled Jellyfish Cookie being the second. The "Ancient Soulstone Package" presents an updated Soulstone of Dark Cacao Cookie that is currently not in-game. Dark Cacao Cookie was designed by Seo Yeokyeong. Dark Cacao Cookie and his update are occasionally referred to as "unicorn" in the game's files. Dark Cacao Cookie's English voice actor, Patrick Seitz, has described Dark Cacao Cookie as "a high-fructose King Lear."
