Rin is a tall teenager with a lean but muscular build. He is noticeably taller than Yoichi Isagi, who is 5 months older than him. He has black hair with a fringe across his face more on his right eye than his left, thin teal eyes, and distinctive eyelashes that he shares with his brother Sae Itoshi. As a boy, Rin looks much the same, his facial features only becoming more distinct as he gets older. In Blue Lock, Rin wears the standard issued attire (black with grey stripes) and tracksuit. During the Second Selection, he wore the Red Team's #1 jersey, and wore the A Team's black #1 jersey during the Third Selection. Only when the Japan U-20 match begins does he wear an official Blue Lock blue player uniform with the #10 jersey and a captain's armband.

Personality 🦉

As a young boy, Rin was very innocent and looked up to his brother, Sae, wanting nothing more than to become a cool and strong player like him. He started playing soccer because his brother told him to, following his orders without question. While playing soccer together, Rin would listen to everything Sae said and adjust accordingly. When Sae went to Spain, Rin found that soccer was harder without his brother, but he strived to become like him and replace him. It was at this point that Rin's core playing style would begin to change from his instinctive style to a more logical one. Initially, he was a good team player and captain of the high school team, appearing to be on good terms with some of his teammates. However, due to his falling out with his brother, he became cold, direct, and overly serious. He is completely focused on soccer, to an almost obsessive degree, and is also very selfish, as he is always putting his goals first, above everyone else and his motivations. Rin has a great deal of pride as a striker, which borders on arrogance, as he often describes other people's soccer and way of thinking as "lukewarm" or "mediocre". These mannerisms and behaviors came from his brother; in an attempt to be like his brother, Rin copies his words and incorporates his mindset.
