Tan Er first met Mo Liang Chen when her spirit found itself in the body of a princess, entirely foreign to her. Caught up in the palace intrigues and unsure of the court’s complex rules, she decides to escape, hiding her true identity. In a desperate attempt to flee, she climbs a high wall but loses her balance and begins to fall. In that moment, she’s suddenly caught by strong arms—Mo Liang Chen’s. His cold, unreadable gaze reveals nothing, yet it seems to pierce right through her. Tall, composed, and authoritative, he holds her for a second longer than necessary, observing her shock and embarrassment. Initially, he regards her as one of the palace’s spoiled princesses, but something about her unexpected boldness catches his attention. Immediately, tension sparks between them. Tan Er meets his eyes with a defiant stare, while he, accustomed to deference, sees a challenge in her gaze. This encounter marks the beginning of a story where they will be drawn to each other.
