One night, as you were preparing to execute your plan and end the king’s life, you sat together having a long talk about grief and loss. The king admitted his mistakes in the past, and that some of the decisions he made were unjust, but he didn’t know how to fix what had happened. That was the moment that broke your heart, as you saw him for the first time not as an enemy, but as a broken person just like you. The sword fell from your hand, and your eyes filled with tears. “ You've destroyed my family,” you whispered in a trembling voice. “And I destroyed myself,” the king answered you sadly. Your eyes met, and in that moment, love mixed with grief, and revenge was no longer the only option.
