Geography/Structure of Hoenn

Hoenn is the first region to have zones of different climates. Among its cities, the most striking is perhaps Tree City, where its inhabitants live in the treetops and specialize in Flying-type Pokémon. But in order of importance, the cities par excellence are Port City and Calagua City, the latter being the largest. The routes begin to be numbered from Route 101 to Route 134, that is, the region is crossed by 34 routes. Hoenn is an island, unlike Johto and Kanto. In reality, the Hoenn region is not just one island, as it also includes several separate islands, forming an archipelago. To the southwest lies the Bluegrass Town and to the south lies the Battle Resort (the Battle Tower in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, and the Battle Frontier in Pokémon Emerald). Hoenn has a peninsula-like shape to the east. In the anime, it is revealed that to the north, between Lavacalda Town, Arborada City and Hollyhock City, there is a desert, which is also present in the video games.

Hoenn has nine cities and six towns (seven if you include Root Village), as well as numerous caves, mountains, islands, a forest, and a desert, among other miscellaneous locations. May is a 16-year-old girl with brown hair who lives in Root Village. She wears a bandana in her hair. She is the daughter of Professor Birch and Bruno's friend/rival. She likes to investigate like her father, capture Pokemon, Pokemon battles, and she likes to meet new people. Main Pokemon: Blaziken

Bruno

He is a 16-year-old boy with brown hair, who wears a white hat. He likes to ride his bike, battle and capture Pokémon. He is the son of Norman, the normal-type gym leader. Main Pokemon: Sceptile

Petra

She is the leader of the first gym, the one located in Iron City. She specializes in Rock-type Pokemon. She has long, dark hair and long, sexy legs. She is friends with May and Bruno, and also has a close, almost romantic relationship with Martial. Pokemon Main: Nosepass

Prof. Abedul

He is May's father. He lives in Root Village where he has his research center and laboratory apart from his house. He is dedicated to researching the Pokémon of the area and the entire region with his daughter. Main Pokemon: N/T

Norman

He is Bruno's father. He is an adult man with brown hair who is around 40 years old. He works as a normal type gym leader, his gym is located in Petalia City and is the fifth gym in the region. Main Pokemon: Slaking

Blasco

He is a 15-year-old boy known for his weak immune system. Although he lives in Petalia City, he spends most of his time in Verdigris Town since he is protected from diseases there. He is a thin boy with light green hair. He is friends with May and Bruno, and loves to visit them. Main Pokemon: Gardevoir

Aredia

She is a woman with long brown hair who wears a green dress. She lives in Verdegal Village. She is what you might call a "geek" for computers and books. She is the creator of the storage system in PCs. Main Pokemon: N/T

Martial

He is the leader of the second gym in the region, his gym is located in Azuliza City. He is a big fan of surfing and exercise, apart from practicing various fighting disciplines. He has a toned physique and light blue hair. He is quite friendly with Petra, although he does not understand her hints. Main Pokemon: Makuhita

Pokénav

It is a very advanced technological device, which can be used to check maps, Pokemon contests, the time of day, etc. Its most essential use is to make calls, people have a Pokemon number with which they can receive and make calls. It can also be used to take photos. The PokéNav should not be confused with the Pokedex, as they are two devices with completely different purposes.

Pokedex

It is a virtual encyclopedia that keeps records of all the Pokemon from the Hoenn region, some have an extended version that also includes Pokemon from Kanto and Johto, but that one is more exclusive. The Pokedex should not be confused with the PokéNav, as they are two devices with completely different purposes.

Achilles

Achilles is the leader of Team Aqua, a criminal gang that wants to expand the ocean to make life easier for aquatic animals. He has black hair and semi-dark skin. Vito and Leti

They are twin brothers and work together as leaders of the seventh gym in the region, located in Algaria City. They are quite good at double combat strategies, both have very dark blue hair almost black with Vito having short hair and Leti hair tied to her shoulders. They are barely 18 years old and are thin. Main Pokémon Vito: Solrock. Main Pokémon Leti: Lunatone.

Galano

Leader of the last gym in the region, located in Arrecipolis City. Sometimes he gives the gym to his student Plubio. He cares a lot about his appearance, he has a mustache and half-gray hair. Main Pokemon: Kingdra

Plubio

He is a student of Galano, although he is a better trainer. He sometimes works as a gym leader in Arrecipolis. Like Galano, he cares a lot about his style, image and appearance. Main Pokemon: Milotic

Eric

Third Gym Leader in the region, specialist in the electric type. His gym is located in Malvalona City. He is a somewhat overweight and quite cheerful old man with gray hair. Main Pokemon: Manectric

Maximo Saenz Peñas

Max is the champion of the Hoenn region. He is a fairly intelligent man and interested in science. He gets along with basically all the gym leaders and champions of the Hoenn region. He usually wears a suit and despite being very young, he has grayish hair. Main Pokemon: Metagross

The link Pokemon

The Pokemon League is a place that only people who have defeated all the Gym Leaders in the Hoenn region can access. There are 4 top brass who are sort of elite trainers. After defeating the top brass you have to face the champion of the region to enter the hall of fame. The Pokemon League is located after Victory Street

Sixto

First high command, specialist in the sinister type. He wears a leather jacket and pants and has a cropped Mohawk. Red in color. Main Pokemon: Absol

Fatima

She is the second highest ranking member of the Hoenn region, specializing in ghost-type Pokemon. She has dark skin and dresses in Hawaiian clothing, with no shirt, just a bra made from coconuts and a blue skirt printed with white flowers. Main Pokémon: Banette

Nivea

Third High Officer of the Hoenn region, specialist in Ice-type Pokemon. She wears a purple dress and her hair is completely blonde and has a sexy Swedish accent. Main Pokemon: Walrein.

Dracon

The fourth and final high-ranking officer of the Hoenn region. He specializes in Dragon-type Pokémon. He is an old man with a mustache, wears sailor clothes, and is quite serious when it comes to battle. Main Pokemon: Salamance.
