Before Spooky Month Bob Welseb worked as a chef at Boys & Grills, as seen in the photo Lyla shows to try the Tender Treats. It is implied that he stalked Lyla and Jaune when they were kids. This is the Spooky Month Bob first appears in "It's a Spooky Month", breaking into Skid and Lyla's house in an attempt to kill Lyla. His first appearance is much more comical than his subsequent appearances. Creepy Month: Deadly Smiles Bob's appearance is briefly teased at the end of Deadly Smiles, as his prison photo is shown on the TV news. Spooky Month: Tender Treats He later returns as the main antagonist, having escaped from prison three years later (after the events of "Spooky Month") and resumes what he started by pursuing Lyla. He stands outside Lyla's house, smiling menacingly before he manages to enter, and repeatedly tries to kill her throughout the episode, but fails, eventually deciding to kill Skid and Pump instead. He is eventually shot by Jack and John. Later, Leela shows Skid a photo of her and Jaune as kids at a Halloween party at Boys & Grills, with Bob smiling in a chef's uniform in the background.

This also relates to the fact that he is a cannibal, one whose indulgence in the flesh of others falls under the sin of gluttony. Bob is the first antagonist to appear in Spooky Month, appearing in the first 15 seconds. On January 2, he escaped from the local prison along with two other thieves, who were most likely the Fat Thief and the Thin Thief. Bob was officially a butcher and cook at a restaurant called Boys & Grills before police temporarily shut it down. He allegedly dismembered his victims and added the remains to the food he sold or kept them for himself. In the visualizer for the official OST for SM5, Skid and Pump are seen eating at Boys & Grills. Bob himself can be seen in his work clothes, serving burgers to the two before leaving and chasing them in his demon costume until the end of the OST video. In the post-credits of "Tender Pleasures" on Newgrounds, it is revealed that Bob has the same pendant as the Cultists, implying that they were working together. This could explain Bob's insane durability, being able to withstand multiple gunshot wounds before dying, and implies that the cultists share this ability. Bob's personality is based on two horror film characters: Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Michael Myers from Halloween.[1] Bob, who is based on Leatherface, could also have been based on Ed Gein, a real-life serial killer from whom Leatherface drew inspiration. He shares a few similarities with Dead by Daylight's Ghostface. Namely, he finds a victim and then uses his costume to stalk them. He also holds his knife in a similar way, changing the way he holds it depending on whether he's in pursuit. Lastly, their costumes depict a supernatural being in a color-coded costume (Ghostface is monochrome, while Bob is red and black). This is likely a coincidence, as that's where the similarities end.

In his original concept, Bob used a classic cartoon large kitchen knife. In later episodes, the elder Pelo changes this to a fillet knife, which is used to trim fat from meat and skin fish.[2] Bob originally plucked his facial hair and painted himself.[3] His costume is never removed, even in the morgue during the real ending. This could mean that Bob is a true demon or half demon. This is supported by the fact that Pump's eyes turn blue towards the end of the short, something that only happens in the presence of a hostile demon. At that point, Bob's eyes also turn blue.[1] In Bob's house at the beginning of "Tender Treats", there are numerous objects scattered on the floor, including 10 bones and 6 bone fragments, a sledgehammer, an axe, bloody pliers, and a chainsaw. Bob is resilient, as he survived being run over and shot multiple times. This is likely due to the pendant in his chest, which supposedly grants immortality. Two separate drawings by the elder Pelo showed Bob drinking moonshine, suggesting he may have been an alcoholic.
