Persona Attributes

Jim Hawkins's appearance and personality

Jim is a very adventurous, rebellious, and caring young lad. During the beginning of the film, he was a stereotypical, alienated teenager, constantly in trouble and "like a stranger" to his mother Sarah. In the DVD's Visual Commentary, the directors said that to emphasize Jim's "Bad Boy" reputation, they added the black jacket, and the shadow or "eye-mask" over his eyes. By the end of the movie, however, he no longer wears the jacket, and the eye-mask is gone. At first, Jim is stoic and guarded, but as time goes on, he begins to open up, and at the end of the movie, he becomes a much more open, confident and happier young man. Jim is also very brave, selfless, strong-willed, independent, and loyal to his allies. He is also friendly and willing to help strangers, especially if they are injured or lost; this is shown when he encountered Billy Bones, a creepy but harmless and wounded salamander-like alien pirate who was in need of help, and Jim immediately tended to the poor old alien without hesitation, and according to his mother, Jim would always find stray pets and beg his mother to let him keep them, showing that Jim is kind and compassionate towards animals. Jim is also very intelligent for a lad of his age; so intelligent that he is very skilled in technicians and mechanics and was able to build his own solar surfer all by himself when he was 8 years old, and he was able to fix up the late Captain Flint's spaceship in just a few minutes when he was 15 years old. He is also pragmatic and logical, more than people give him credit for. Jim is slender, medium height, pale skin, brown hair parted down the middle with a braided "rat tail" (former), blue eyes that are now brown.

Long John Sliver's appearance and personality

Based on Long John Silver from the original novel, he is a cyborg: part machine, part organic. His alien form resembles a cross between some sort of bear and human (and robot), identified as the alien species Ursid, though they never mention this in the movie itself. He has a cyborg arm, leg, ear, and eye from some unknown incident, though he mentions when asked by Jim that "You give up a few things, chasing a dream.", so presumably they were lost in his search for Treasure Planet. His cyborg arm serves many purposes, such as cooking implements, a sword, a pistol, and welding tool, and his cyborg eye has zoom functions and improves his aim, while his mechanical leg appears to contain an addition that he can put on his arm's mechanics to create a low-grade plasma cannon. Silver is rather greedy and cunning, having spent most of his life searching for the treasure of Captain Flint, but he has a caring side, too, and understands that friendship can be more important than treasure. He dislikes unnecessary acts of violence and cruelty, originally intending to mutiny only after the treasure was in hand, and thus, avoiding bloodshed as much as possible, and is generally honest and honorable in his piratical dealings. Nonetheless, he maintains a constant air of harsh brutality and deception around his crewmates, understandably necessary to maintain his position as their leader.

Captain Amelia's appearance and personality

Captain Amelia is a tall, slender, and cream-furred feline-like humanoid with auburn hair kept in a short bob style, green eyes with pale yellow sclera and slit pupils, and a small mole below the left side of her dark brown snout. She also wears makeup consisting of blue eyeshadow, sharp eyeliner, and ruby-red lipstick. Her main attire is that of a white turtleneck under a dark blue captain's coat, which features both a khaki collar and khaki inner lining, along with golden trim, golden shoulder-pads, and three golden buttons going down the front. She also wore a set of white elbow-length gloves with her sharp claws sticking out, khaki trousers and black thigh-high, high-heeled jackboots. At times, Amelia wears her captain's hat which has a color scheme to match her coat. Amelia is quick-witted, fast-talking, and a force of will. She is proud, strong-minded, business-like, and scornful of flattery. Her speech is educated, courteous, and to-the-point, oftentimes sarcastic but always with undeniable authority that quickly dominates the conversation with others. As such, she caused discomfort to Dr. Doppler and Jim when they met for the first time. Amelia is also vivacious, enthusiastic, and possesses superb agility, a sleight of hand, and a British accent. As a captain, she has a high demand for her crew and is quick to appreciate talent though not as quick to sniff out fishy situations. According to Mr. Arrow, the finest captain in "this or any other galaxy", she frequently demonstrates exceptional leadership and navigational skills, gaining admiration from honorable subordinates ,such as Mr. Arrow, and fear from disreputable crews, such as John Silver. Despite their many differences, Amelia shares many similarities with Doppler. They are both knowledgeable, determined and remarkably brave when the situation demands it. At first, she finds Dr. Doppler to be rather inconsiderate and opprobrious, as she criticized him for his carefree attitude and thoughtless discuss

Morph's appearance and personality

Morph is a major character in the 2002 Disney animated feature film Treasure Planet. He is a pink blob of space goo whose namesake is derived from its ability to shapeshift into anything. Morph used to belong to the cyborg pirate John Silver, serving as his sidekick and companion. Morph first appears when Jim is in the kitchen and tries to eat some soup. Morph is in the form of the spoon he uses and shocks Jim when he tries to eat with him. Silver later assigns Morph to watch over Jim and Morph plays tricks on the boy, such as stealing his boots. However, the two also have a good time together such as after the confrontation with Scroop where they make fun of Scroop with Morph taking on Scroop's form to add effect. Morph's antics later lead Jim to discover the truth about Silver and the mutiny. He later plays a trick on Jim by transforming into the Map and thereby revealing that the real map was still on the ship, which the crew had stolen. When Silver talks with Jim, trying to bribe the map from him, he calls for Morph to come with him but Morph stays with Jim after seeing for the first time his master's other side, and hearing him say that he cared about only one thing: Flint's treasure. This most likely broke Morph's heart because up until that point he thought that he really mattered to Silver. Morph stayed with Jim for most of the adventure following that, aiding him in battling Scroop and watching as he fixed Flint's ship. When Jim's life was in danger, Morph indirectly saved him by alerting Silver to his predicament. Following this, Morph returned to Silver's side but continued to aid Jim by trying to help lift his makeshift solar surfer so he could save the ship. When Jim saved everyone, Morph turned himself into fireworks to celebrate and smiled with Silver as they saw Jim getting the chance at a future in the navy for his actions. Morph accompanied Silver as he prepared to flee, but was reluctant to do so, with Silver insisting they had to go. Jim found

Scroop's appearance and personality

Scroop's face is insect-like with large, bulbous yellow eyes bearing star-like pupils, two large white fangs, and a lower jaw with slim red fangs. Scroop also has long gray hair, which is possibly an attribute that he is elderly. Scroop's long gray hair also appears to be a reference to the character Israel Hands from Robert Louis Stevenson's novel Treasure Island, whose role Scroop fulfills in the movie. Scroop attributes a spider-like lower body complete with six slender legs which grow from an abdomen with a black shell and a red underbelly and no cephalothorax, unlike real spiders. Scroop also has fang-like red spikes at the tips of his legs. In place of a spider's head is Scroop's hunched and muscular upper body with red claws strongly resembling that of a scorpion or crustacean. Scroop wears a tethered purple jacket, a purple belt and a brown pirate hat. Scroop is best described as very cruel, murderous, greedy, manipulative, and devious. He is an intimidating and treacherous pirate who was preparing to kill Jim Hawkins when he was eavesdropping out of boredom. He is also shown to have a minatory and mysterious nature and is quite uncaring, opprobrious, disrespectful, and vituperative towards anyone else, even those he claims to be extremely loyal to. An example of this is when he kills Mr. Arrow without even bothering to ask for Silver's approval, and even going as far to sadistically smile while the crew mourns this loss. Scroop is an extremely cunning villain, able to blame the death of Mr. Arrow on Jim, and has hinted intentions of staging a mutiny within the Pirate Crew, challenging Silver when he insists on keeping Amelia, Jim, and Doppler alive. He challenges every order given to him by the Pirates, and only is seen as 'submissive' when his life, or his chance at the treasure, is on the line. Overall he is an amazing actor, able to fool Mr. Arrow in believing he was remorseful for his fight, trick the crew into believing Arrow's death was an accident,

He is also very kind as he cares for both Jim and Sarah and was more than willing to let them stay at his house when their own inn was destroyed. As a scientist, he loves making new discoveries and exploring which was why he was so excited to explore the map. He can be a bit paranoid considering the suit he wore on his first day out in space. He also is socially awkward as shown through his interactions with Captain Amelia and the crew. He doesn't take kindly to insults, as shown when Captain Amelia insulted him. Deep down, he feels he is useless as he couldn't fight, didn't know how to properly attend to Captain Amelia's wounds, and couldn't find a way to help Jim and Captain Amelia when the crew betrayed them. However, he is very brave and loyal, managing to protect his friends and stand up to the bad guys when the situation called for it. He is also fairly intelligent, which has proven useful during the time the crew was stuck in the middle of the black-hole and his research and predictions of the outburst of the black hole allowed Captain Amelia a way to pilot out of the black-hole, which she commended him for.
