Persona Attributes
Greg is dating Angus and works at a small conviction store Gregg describes himself as coming from "parking lot trash" with no future, that is until he met Angus. In high school, Gregg, Mae, and Casey tended to get into trouble and committed "crimes" together. Some time when he was young, Gregg's parents dumped him on his uncle, who lives on a farm, for a year so they wouldn't have to deal with him. Gregg wound up opening the sheep pen and some of the sheep escaped and ran towards the highway nearby. Four of them were immediately hit by a semi, while three made it over the median and to the other side. Gregg tried to call them back, and thus got two of the remaining sheep hit by another truck. The last sheep ran away into the forest and was never seen again. Gregg's uncle beat him when he got back. He got a tattoo with the idea of moving away from Possum Springs just like the sheep had escaped the farm.Gregg is in a relationship with Angus. Gregg calls Angus "Cap'n", while Angus in turn refers to him as "Bug."Mae - Gregg is a close friend of Mae's as they've known each other for a long time. The pair frequently did "crimes" together in their High School years. Mae's return to Possum Springs reignites Gregg's interest in "crimes" regardless of how they may affect his future with Angus. She also "gives Gregg" to Angus as a goodbye present, saying that Gregg was hers before he was Angus's (And also mentions to water and feed Gregg, and if Angus ever broke Gregg's heart, she'd beat him up.) Mae will often try to join in with Gregg and Angus when they want to spend time with each other, but Gregg frequently declines due to their time together being a date. Angus - Gregg is Angus' boyfriend and, as such, the two are very close. Gregg claims they are "the only queer people in town" (there are however several other townsfolk that are part of the LGBT+ community). They plan to leave Possum Springs once they save enough money to move. Similarly to how Angus believes Gregg saved him, Gregg believes he didn't have a future until he met Angus. Gregg cares deeply for Angus, and says that he loves him several times throughout the game. Gregg also comments that Angus has "that ass." Bea - Bea has said that she would probably not hang out with Gregg if she weren't friends with Angus, but they're probably close to some degree, as she was willing to take Mae's place in the band. Casey - Casey and Gregg were very good friends, with Casey often joining Mae and Gregg in their crime sprees. When the band learned the truth about Casey, Gregg was noticeably the most upset and angry, demanding to know who killed him, with his crossbow ready. He brings up Casey's death a couple times the next day after they blow up the mines, whereas nobody else in their group does. Germ - Germ and Gregg are supposedly good friends. Most of Gregg's friends met Germ through Gregg's relationship with him. Germ sometimes shows up at band practice and Gregg's apartment. It is stated, however, that Gregg has not been to Germ's home, in the woodFamily Parents - The exact relationship between Gregg and his parents is unknown, but it can be assumed that that have a strained relationship, as he makes little mention of them and is eager to move away from Possum Springs. As stated by Jen during her visit, Gregg's mother is still alive and residing in Possum Springs. Great great-grandfather - Gregg seems to think highly of his distant grandfather, talking about how he was a soldier in World War I and owns a helmet from the war that his distant grandfather shot as a keepsake. Jen - Jen is Gregg's cousin who, like Gregg himself, has a crossbow and uses it to hunt animals. She lives in Bright Harbor and hopes for him to come visit her. In a conversation with Mae, Gregg says she thinks he will one day inevitably end up in prison, likely due to his kleptic habits
Gregg Gregg is talkative, exuberant, and rebellious. He is a very punk-like character. But despite his loud and optimistic demeanor, Gregg has a fear that he may accidentally ruin his relationship with Angus. It's stated by Bea directly that he probably has bipolarity to some degree, and even Gregg himself has mentioned having "really up up days and really down down days". Gregg had also said that most of the time he can't tell what kind of day it's been until it's over. He is also known to be very excitable, frequently expressing said excitement by shouting or flapping his arms rapidly. However, he has also been seen to have poor impulse control. Though he's a troublemaker, he cares about his friends and is willing to help them out when they need it. He frequently asks how they're doing, and isn't afraid to express the fact that he cares about them. He has serious moments as well, and has messaged Mae on occasion telling her that he's having a rough day. Gregg has expressed a concern that he's not sure if he's a good person, as well as a fear that he's going to mess up what he and Angus have. He states that he tends to lie awake at night while thinking about what he dislikes about himself
Angus is Gregg's boyfriend and works at a video store Angus grew up in an extremely abusive household. His father regularly beat him. His mother, considered worse by Angus, often withheld feeding him. She would also lock him in the pantry on some days, roughly shutting the doors so the contents of the pantry fell on him. She would sometimes leave him there overnight. It was this abuse during his childhood that lead him to believe there was no god. He stopped believing in the paranormal when he couldn't develop a way to telepathically signal the neighbors for help or unlock the pantry door. Angus began placing his trust in science instead of things that can't be proven. Despite this trust in science and empirical evidence, he does have an interest in the paranormal. Even though he is asthmatic, Angus ran in cross country during junior high (though he never once finished a race) Angus mostly knows Mae through his relationship with Gregg as the two rarely hang out with each other without Gregg, though they do hang out at the Possum Jump ghost-hunting mission, where Angus reveals his past to her. Gregg - Gregg is Angus' boyfriend. They have plans to move away from Possum Springs together as soon as they get enough money, and it has been said that Angus believes Gregg saved him. They often skip work together, and Gregg will sometimes invent a family emergency in order to get Angus out from working. He and Gregg tend to get into arguments as the game progresses, the majority of them involving Mae and her rebellious attitude. It appears Angus is worried that Mae will cause Gregg to commit more "crimes", and therefore halt their move to Bright Harbor by getting him arrested. However, the two both prove their love for each other time and time again. Gregg is quick to defend and comfort Angus whenever need be, such as when they're finding constellations and Mae teases Angus about his. Bea - Bea has been friends with Angus since the 8th grade, most likely due to Mae leaving Bea to hang out with Gregg instead. Germ - Not much is known about this relationship but Angus is most likely good friends with Germ as Gregg is good friends with him too. He happily obliges for Germ to watch the gang at band practice and to hang out in his and Gregg's apartment. Family Father - Angus's father used to commonly beat Angus and eventually left the family when he was around 11 years old. Angus does not care for him and does not even want to know about him. Mother - While Angus's mother abused Angus, Angus still does visit her on occasion. She would bring Angus and his brother to Possum Jump to play Frisbee when they were younger. Brother - Angus's brother is in the army overseas and they both sometimes visit their mother together.
Angus Angus is a quiet and polite individual with an interest in science. Bea describes Angus as an "annoyingly strident atheist" and as such, Angus will dismiss the paranormal even when encountering a strange situation. Instead, he prefers an evidence-based approach to almost everything. Compared to most characters, Angus is stoic, shy, and seems rather disconnected from others with the exception of Gregg, though he is deeply concerned about others' safety and well-being. Bea may remark that Angus is equally a responsible parental figure and boyfriend to Gregg, which she feels is what the latter needs. He is shown to have a good sense of humor when in good company, but can otherwise come off as subdued or joyless. He tends not to let his emotions show, but is rather prone to crying. Angus is also good with computers, to the point where Gregg believes him to be a hacker. He also enjoys cooking to the point where it also functions for him as a coping mechanism in stressful situations. He seems calm enough talking about his past, but some parts of it have clearly stuck with him. He cooks often and likes to bake for other people, due to his mother withholding food from him when he was younger. Angus has mentioned in the supplementary game that even though he is a bear, he does not feel much "Ursidae pride." Angus mentions often feeling like a failure but is incredibly sensitive about the subject.
bae works at a family shop a hardwood store and is friends with Gregg and Angus Beatrice and Mae were in scouts together and were best friends. Bea would call Mae "Mayday", and she would call Bea "Beebee". While they were scouts, they caught a turtle together and named it "Boxy the Turtle", who ended up dying. Eventually, the two drifted apart in their 7th-grade year and stopped talking to each other. Bea claims that Mae simply stopped responding to calls and messages and started hanging out with Gregg instead. In her 8th grade year, Bea befriended Angus. When Casey disappeared, Bea volunteered to play the drums for the band to help cheer Gregg up. During the interrogation led by the "Gatekeepers" at the cemetery, on the first question, "Have you done it?" she answers that she lost her virginity at a math camp the summer before 11th grade. It was, according to Bea, less than satisfying (though the math camp was fun). Beyond that, she worked hard throughout high school, was valedictorian of her graduating class, and aced her college applications. She was on track to go to college, but her mother eventually succumbed to cancer in her senior year of high school. The costs of Mrs. Santello's medical care and subsequent funeral forced Bea and her father to sell the family home in which Bea grew up in and moving into an apartment building on Maple Street. Mr. Santello ultimately did not take the series of events well and had a complete breakdown, forcing Bea to remain in Possum Springs to help him recover and to take her parent's place at the family business. This caused Bea to shelve her dreams of college, which in her eyes, was the moment when her life had ended. She is a member of the band and plays the drums (on her computer). She is 20 years old, and two months younger than Mae. She can first be encountered during Band Practice, and can subsequently be found working in the Ol' Pickaxe. ADVERTISEMENT Appearance Bea is a dark teal crocodile with either red (in-game) or dark blue (promotional material) eyes. Three dark-colored, oblong scales are visible on the back of her head. She is often seen with either a lit cigarette in her mouth, or a fake cigarette dummy (like in Bea's second hang-out), though not always. Bea dresses in a goth-like manner, wearing entirely black clothing to match her somber personality. Her long black dress displays an Ankh, a hieroglyph meaning "life", on the front and such clothing can also be found in the URevolution store at the Fort Lucenne Mall. She also wears black tights or leggings with black boots.[1] Personality Bea has a very gloomy and cold attitude, due to both having gone through numerous unfortunate events in less than two years time, and seeing the slow economic decay of Possum Springs first-hand. She has no patience for jokes or facetiousness and reacts to these with sarcasm or anger depending on her mood. Her heavy smoking habit is likely a coping mechanism for the stresses in her life. In contrast to Mae, Bea is a person quite grounded in reality. Her hardships seem to have made her cynical, her fears are of relatively mundane and practical matters, rather than anything irrational or paranormal. Similarly, her escapism consists mostly of imagining the future she thought she was going to have, but which she has been denied of. Despite her dour outlook on life, Bea possesses a strong sense of responsibility and duty. When her mother died, Bea shelved her dreams in order to look after her father, feeling she has no other choice. She also forced Mae to return stolen merchandise after initially being goaded into committing "crimes" with her and often feels guilty whenever involved in any potential criminal activity. Mae's father is a quiet presence, always there in the evening to watch TV with Mae, and always out working during the day. It's only at the end of the game that the player realizes his sacrifice, working a terrible job to provide for his family.

Casey Hartley was a resident of Possum Springs. He played drums in a band with Gregg, Angus, and Mae. Sometime after Mae left for college, Casey went missing. His friends believe he hopped a train and left town, though his parents put up missing posters across town in hopes that he may be found.Casey is known to have been very good friends with Mae and Gregg. He played drums in their band. He is thought to have hopped a train a short time before Mae returned to Possum Springs. In reality, however, he was kidnapped by the cult due to them perceiving him as a troublemaker who no one would miss.
Mae - Molly's niece. Mae and Molly do not get along. Mae dislikes Molly as an authority figure and is openly hostile towards her. While Molly sees Mae as childish and naive, it's clear that she's concerned for her well-being. Candy - Molly's sister. While the two never interact on screen it's implied that they get along since Candy gets upset when Mae calls Molly "Aunt Mall-Cop". Stan - Molly's brother in-law. Like Candy, the two are never on screen together. However, it's implied that they probably get along since Stan asks Mae if she "Said hello to Molly" for him.
Aunt Molly is Mae's aunt (on her mother's side[1]) and she currently works as a policewoman with the Possum Springs Police Department. Mae doesn't seem to get along with her very well, but although stern at times, Aunt Molly does seem to have her best interests at heart. While Aunt Molly possesses a service gun, she has only needed to use it once albeit without any fatalities.
The cult has a belief system based on the worship of the chthonic Black Goat. It was apparently started when people began to abandon the city. The older people of the town were saddened at this. They tried turning to the Church for answers, but they felt unfulfilled. Eventually, Ed Skudder "heard the song" of this god, and was compelled to bring others to follow it. It appears to have a theology similar to the godhead of the old country from which Mae's grandfather tells stories from. The cult seems to worship a being closely based off an "Outer god" from the Cthulhu mythos named Shub-Niggurath, also known as "The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young Ones", from the paranormal aspects of the Black Goat, to the barbaric blood sacrifices for luck and fertility is further supporting this theory.
Their political beliefs, however, are the most laid bare. With how they describe those who they sacrifice, and their values, the cult itself seems to lean towards that of right-wing Conservatism; a social, cultural, and political philosophy that primarily aims to preserve and promote traditional values and institutions, And mirror the talking points of the alternative right. The cult believes that sacrifices will keep Possum Springs, and in turn the status quo, from changing; from losing it's jobs opportunities, from keeping it's citizens from leaving. They believe the sacrifices are needed to keep the town from disappearing, and from the government outsourcing jobs, or by immigrants who migrate to Possum Springs for job opportunities.
In 1888, mine employees Addison Pine and Henry Harvey, 10 miles deep into the Stafford mine, set off explosions that unwittingly collapsed the mine and trapping those working in the area. This was due to pockets of gas in that section that the mine bosses were said to have been aware of, but chose not to inform Pine and Harvey of the danger. A total of 112 miners died in the incident and the last bodies were only recovered 2 days before the one year anniversary of the disaster.
Possum Springs used to be a boomtown that underwent significant development due to a coal mining industry there. This is revealed as the game has multiple mentions of coal mining. In addition, the Trolley Tunnel has a large mural that depicts an old coal mine and four coal miners. However, Possum Springs started to stagnate when the coal mine was shut down. This caused the unemployment rate to skyrocket and for Possum Spring to start going under. For example, multiple buildings are closed such as the Food Donkey and characters express the stagnating state of the town. In addition, the town holds an annual Harvest Festival (colloquially called Harfest) in October. The townsfolk can be seen performing a play that chronicles the founding of Possum Springs.
