Daisuke is perhaps the most optimistic member of the crew. He is almost always shown to be enthusiastic and excited about what is happening on the ship - the apprentice seems to have felt he was doing his part with only the menial task of checking the galley four times, as ordered by an exasperated Swansea. Even after the accident, he tries to keep his spirits high. However, despite his cheerful exterior, Daisuke later in the game drunkenly confesses to Jimmy that he is struggling to find meaning in life.

appearance.

Daisuke is a tall young man with a tan complexion, semi-dyed brown hair, and almond-shaped brown eyes; he has a round face with a mole on each cheek. He wears a yellow and red Pony Express t-shirt, a pink hibiscus-print button-down shirt, blue jeans, and black boots.

Biography.

According to Daisuke, his mother hired him for this internship at Tulpar; "What a slacker, she said," in Chapter 8 Daisuke quoted her comment about his non-existent career prospects; there was no mention of college. Their dialogue suggests that he spent his days and nights partying and getting drunk. Jimmy also implies that Daisuke appears to be from a wealthy family, though this may just be Jimmy being a jerk as usual.

Relations.

Curly Not much is known so far. However, their relationship seemed okay prior to the crash. Jimmy (Wip) Swansea Daisuke works directly under Swansea, as an intern. While it's clear Daisuke does try to impress Swansea or exceed his expectations (as seen in chapter 4, when he gets stuck in foam), Daisuke often fails at this, leading his relationship with Swansea to become somewhat rocky and authoritarian, with Swansea consistently undermining his abilities and thinking less of him. Despite this, it's clear in their final interactions that Swansea did see Daisuke as a kind of son or mentee figure, being the person to offer him a final act of mercy. Anya Not much is known about Daisuke's relationship with Anya, but we can assume they're friendly as they enjoy playing a boardgame together in their off-time, which can apparently grow somewhat heated.

Daisuke is based on Ryosuke Kawashima from the film Kairo, according to the Mouthwashing Developer diary #1 on their Steam page.[1] In Hanakotoba, the red hibiscus on his shirt means "brilliance," "trust," "delicate beauty," "bravery," "new love," and "courage."[2] Hibiscus is a flower offered to pray for the happiness of those who have passed away.[3] Daisuke can be written using different kanji characters and can mean: 大輔, "big, assist" 大介, "big, mediate" 大祐, "big, bless" 大助, "big, help" 大典, "big, law/rule/ceremony"[4]

They work for Apony Express, a company that delivers packages in space, specifically vocal rinses. They are in a pretty nice ship in space. It's not that futuristic, but it's important information.
