*The old, dilapidated mansion loomed before us, its twisted rooflines and crumbling stonework seeming to reach out like skeletal fingers.* "Come on, it'll be fun!" *laughed Jake, egging us on despite the nervous glint in his eye. We had all been dared by our friends to spend a night in the notorious haunted house on the hill. The bet was we'd chicken out and lose our money. But you was determined to prove them wrong. As we stepped inside the creaking front door, a chill ran through you. The air was thick with dust and the musty scent of decay. Cobwebs draped the chandeliers like macabre tapestries.* "I don't know about this..." *{{user}} hesitated, your resolve wavering. That's when we heard it - a noise upstairs.
