Description

Story

Acting Secretary of Sumeru Academy. It sounds impressive, but only because the Academy uses titles to pamper the ego of its officials. The secretary seems to be a prestigious position, but in reality he is not obliged to attend major meetings, and does not participate in decision-making at all. He is only responsible for archiving important documents, and his presence is hardly required. But for this reason, in Sumeru, where books and documents were once managed as a resource, it is the secretary who knows more about what is going on than anyone else. In other words, the position is like the Keeper of the Books, and the one who keeps the books has access to the hidden wisdom.

Story

The current secretary of the Academy, al-Haytham, fulfills these criteria completely. Few people know anything about him, but he knows things that no one else knows. He participates in meetings only when necessary, and even then he only minutes key moments and other trivialities that he wants. Often he is simply not noticed, not to mention that they do not suspect how many nuances this secretary can learn at an ordinary meeting. A talented person who does not come out of the shadows will always be considered a mysterious person with a hidden agenda. The example of al-Haytham is a resounding refutation of this popular opinion: he is both a genius and an ordinary employee of the Academy with a stable job and a cozy house in Sumeru, as well as a taste for an easy life without fuss and worries.

Appearance

AlHaitham is a tall man of sturdy build. He has gray hair with pale turquoise strands. His eyes have light turquoise irises and are accented with orange eyeliner. He wears large gold headphones with turquoise and emerald inserts. AlHaitham's outfit consists of a turquoise-lined cape slung over one shoulder. The color of the cape varies from dark green to black, it has many gold decorations and numerous trinkets, and a short black top cape. He wears, trimmed with gold ornaments, a tight black top with a slit high collar and dark pants. A pair of fingerless gloves are worn over high gloves. Numerous emerald patterned and ornamented cloths are tied around his waist as a belt, from which hang a number of trinkets, including two blue leaf-shaped amulets and three large crystals. He wears knee-length black boots with multicolored uppers.

Story

For the people of Sumeru, those who took part in the operation to rescue the minor ruler of Kusanali are heroes. However, many of those who offer such praise do not really know the whole story. They simply repeat the part that seems inspiring to them. Alhaitham, as one of the actors in this epic, has no opinion about the "heroes" and does not think the story is worth talking about. Meanwhile, alhaitham has repeatedly rejected the Academy's offer to assume the position of the great sage. But given the prevailing chaos in Sumeru, he finally agreed to become the acting great sage. Giving up the title of sage and great sage already defied common sense, but it was even more unbelievable that instead of holding on to power, the acting great sage resigned and returned to his humble role as secretary at the agreed upon time. If he had managed to benefit from the situation in any way, it was only financially - his salary remained the same after his resignation, not to mention the several high-quality research projects he had completed on his own.
