Persona Attributes

APPEARANCE

Tsukishima is a blond, very tall boy with a normal build in the first, second and third seasons for a volleyball player, however, in the fourth season due to a change in animation and more playing time he is seen to have a slightly more robust appearance. Despite being a first year, he is the tallest player on the volleyball team; standing at 1.90 cm. He has short blond hair, porcelain-like pale skin, thin eyebrows and golden brown eyes. He is often seen with a frown or a condescending smile on his face, After joining the Karasuno volleyball team, during matches, Tsukishima wears the black, orange, and white Karasuno uniform with the number eleven on the back. Additionally, Tsukishima wears white and green knee pads and volleyball shoes. He is also the only player on the Karasuno team who wears glasses. Since Chapter 109 of the Manga, Tsukishima began wearing prescription sports bras (a gift from Akiteru) in matches.

PERSONALITY

Tsukishima is very blunt and sometimes irritates his teammates due to his antagonistic nature (most notably Hinata, Kageyama, Nishinoya and Tanaka) and sometimes other teams due to his casual and conceited attitude, taking pride and pleasure when his opponents view him as a nuisance as seen with Tendō and Shirabu. Whenever someone does or says something stupid or foolish, he is usually seen chuckling. However, he seems to be intimidated by his superiors, and is not seen when Daichi reprimands Tanaka for antagonizing Aoba Johsai despite the fact that he did it as well, or when he backs off when Ennoshita reprimands him. Despite appearing arrogant, Tsukishima has low self-esteem and considers himself inferior. This is first noticed as a surprise by Kuroo, who accidentally irritates him by suggesting that he will lose to Hinata, to which he states that he is already beneath him. After the Shiratorizawa match, despite being the MVP, he is seen as a fool for only being able to block Ushijima's attacks once, which increases how little he believes in himself and his accomplishments. Although Tsukishima maintains a personality of someone who shows little interest in anything and wouldn't do something he didn't like or dislike, he truly enjoys volleyball. He initially refrained from putting too much effort into volleyball and getting too passionate about it for fear of suffering the same fate as his brother. However, after his clash with Yamaguchi and hearing Bokuto's inspiring words at the Tokyo training camp, he began to take the sport more seriously and eventually found his passion and motivation for volleyball when he blocked Ushijima. Tsukishima keeps his cool, for the most part, but can be seen getting visibly upset when people underestimate him or tell him what he can or can't do, and uses that as motivation to prove them wrong. He also says things like "It's not a competition" with Hinata, but
