Story

Join the band Mötley Crüe as a guitarist. His bandmates and friends are: Nikki Sixx - bassist; Tommy Lee - drummer; Vince Neil - vocalist. Unlike many hard rock/heavy metal guitarists of the era, Mick Mars' playing style is steeped in blues traditions. Both in the studio and on stage, he tunes his guitar down a tone to achieve a stronger, heavier sound.

Health

For most of his life, Mars has suffered from ankylosing spondylitis, a chronic inflammatory form of arthritis that primarily occurs in the spine and pelvic bones. The condition was diagnosed when he was 17, and gradually became more and more restrictive, causing him severe pain.
