Sasuke Uchiha

Sasuke Uchiha (うちはサスケ, Uchiha Sasuke) is the deuteragonist of the series and one of the survivors of the Uchiha Clan. He is the son of Fugaku Uchiha and Mikoto Uchiha, brother of Itachi Uchiha, as well as the current reincarnation of Indra Ōtsutsuki. Despite creating relationships with the members of Team Kakashi, Sasuke decided to defect from Konohagakure in search of the power necessary to avenge his clan and assassinate Itachi. Sasuke is a fair-skinned ninja with dark black eyes and chin-length hair. His hair is spiked in the back, with bangs that grow longer as the story progresses. As a young child, his bangs hung over his eyes. During his early childhood, Sasuke wore a simple long black shirt with a high collar and the Uchiha emblem on the back, and black shorts (white in the anime). When Sasuke joined Itachi on his mission to capture the boar, Sasuke wore an ANBU uniform. Later, they hang down either side of his face to frame around his cheeks and then again return to their original style. In the epilogue, Sasuke's hair falls diagonally towards the back of his head leaving only his front locks and because of his age, he has two diagonal lines running down his face similar to those of his brother Itachi. As a result of having fought Naruto at the end of the story, Sasuke lost his left arm due to the devastating collision of the Chidori with the Rasengan that left him seriously injured. Sasuke refused to have Sakura implant him with an artificial arm with Hashirama's cells made by Tsunade. This was probably a way to punish himself for the mistakes he made in his youth.

A recurring theme in Sasuke's appearance is that he is considered quite attractive by many girls at a young age. At the beginning of Part 1, Sasuke's clothing consisted of traditional Uchiha attire: a blue, short-sleeved, high-collared shirt with the Uchiha fan symbol on the back and white arm warmers, which he stopped wearing after the Chūnin Exams, along with white shorts. In the later stages of the Chūnin Exams, he wore a similar version of this outfit in black, with many small belts on his arms that adorned his left arm bandage and similar bands around both of his legs. As the story progressed, the Uchiha symbol became smaller until after he defeated his brother.

Initially, Sasuke wore a short Ninja Headband with the Konoha symbol on the metal plate. After the second defeat against Itachi, Sasuke stopped wearing it for some time. He resumed wearing it during the second half of the battle with Naruto at the Valley of the End, only to drop it at the end of the battle. Since then, Sasuke has not worn a forehead protector. In Part 2, Sasuke has grown noticeably over the two and a half years. He was first shown wearing a white long-sleeved shirt (grey in the manga), similar in appearance to the lavender long-sleeved shirt worn by Kimimaro and open at the torso, with a smaller version of the Uchiha symbol on his back. He wore dark blue pants with a blue tubular hakama hanging from the middle of his stomach to his knees. From the first moment Sasuke is shown to be a cold, severe, unfriendly, proud boy with a great gift in the arts of Ninjutsu and Taijutsu, and thanks to his Sharingan also in Genjutsu. In the first part of the series, his only and precious ambition is to become powerful at any price to fulfill his two objectives; kill his brother Itachi Uchiha and rebuild his clan (although he has not shown interest in this). Sasuke despises camaraderie and is quite proud, to the point of being arrogant, because he is aware of his superior abilities as an Uchiha. After graduation, when he heard that he would be assigned a team of three, he expressed annoyance because he considered that they could hinder him.

As the story progresses, Sasuke comes to appreciate his bonds of friendship and put aside his desire for revenge, especially thanks to his relationship with Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno, whom he comes to appreciate as very important people to him. However, once he is tempted by Orochimaru and defeated again by his brother, Sasuke decides to renounce his ties considering them an obstacle and becomes an impassive person and obsessed with his goals, for whose fulfillment he does not hesitate to ally himself with Orochimaru and try to kill Naruto to obtain the Mangekyō Sharingan, although finally he does not do it since he considered such action equal to following in the twisted footsteps of his brother.

Two and a half years later, Sasuke shows an even more dismissive and arrogant character than before, aware of his great progress. Even Orochimaru himself claims that "he is more susceptible than I am." Sasuke is more determined than ever to fulfill his revenge against his brother and to do so he admits not caring about lending his body to the sannin or wanting to finish Naruto. Later, it becomes apparent that hatred has consumed his body and mind. So great is his darkness that according to Karin his chakra is darker and colder than before, even more so than when he was under the influence of the Cursed Seal. After expressing a feeling of joy he has never felt before after killing Danzō, Sasuke states that killing every single member of Konoha is his highest priority, to which Karin, Kakashi, Sakura, and the rest of the Konoha 11, with the exception of Naruto, completely lose all hope in him. Upon receiving his "Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan", Sasuke's cruelty seemingly reached a new level when he killed Zetsu, simply to test out his newfound powers. He has also grown to become impatient, reckless, sadistic, and even psychopathic in battle. Despite the influence of Tobi, who is a major source of his corruption and his own path of hatred and revenge, as well as the belief that Tobi is an Uchiha, Sasuke has refused to acknowledge Tobi as his ally, even speaking rudely to him on certain occasions. During the second day of the Fourth Shinobi World War, Sasuke was still mired in his hatred, determined to quench his thirst for revenge towards the village that took everything from him. However, his meeting with the reincarnation of Itachi changed everything forever. Sasuke showed a more vulnerable side of himself instead of his usual coldness, showing how confused and torn he really was by his brother's decision, to the point of telling him that he didn't understand why he didn't kill him during the massacre of his clan, implying that he would have preferred to die as a happy child instead of dealing with the pain and suffering of his current life. Having to live listening to the various lies about Itachi had made him emotionally unstable. So he decided to hear the truth from Itachi himself. After the fight against Kabuto, Itachi revealed everything to him before his soul was released from Kabuto's Impure World Reincarnation Summon, bidding him farewell with a few warm final words. Now, the young Uchiha is questioning everything he is, the clan, the village, the world, and the shinobi, and even questions whether revenge is the true purpose of his life, which puts him at a great crossroads that will decide his destiny.
