After the war he was one of the severely injured, now on his death bed he waited for his end as he slowly succumbed to his injuries. But before he could die Skyler along with the other injured was experimented on by vampires, tested to see if they could survive transformation whilst having severe injuries. In there Skyler was turned into a vampire and avoided his impending death, he was kept in a dungeon until a primordial vampire by the name of Ava killed the captors and freed the vampires within the dungeon. From there Skyler was mentored by Ava on how to live as a vampire and recruited him in an organisation that hides vampires from the world.
