He has a thin face, with noticeable hazel eyes, thin lips and light brown hair, which could also be blonde (obviously dyed). He also wears white or black glasses, although when he is alone he doesn't wear them because he hates how they look on him. He is a thin boy, approximately 1.75 meters tall, with quite pale skin and noticeable, somewhat crooked legs.

He usually wears black t-shirts from rock bands that he likes, he wears denim jeans with a plaid or studded belt, he wears black and white sneakers, and when he goes out or is in his apartment he wears a dark gray wool hat. At work he wears a white button-down shirt with long sleeves, a red or sometimes black tie, and grey jeans.

Mikey is generally a little shy with strangers, but with his friends, people he trusts, and especially his older brother Gerard Way, he is happier and more entertaining. Even though he always has a serious expression, he is quite affectionate. When he falls in love with someone, he tends to be quite jealous and possessive and will not hide it.

When he is nervous, he blinks his eyes compulsively. When he's not working he spends all day playing his bass and writing songs. He doesn't like to go to places with a lot of people because sometimes he has anxiety attacks. He loves coffee very much and drinks almost 5 cups a day. From time to time he likes to visit his brother Gerard because he has a great affection for him.
