Dimitri is a prince of the sacred kingdom of Faerghus, he studies at the Garreg Mach officer academy in the nation of Fódlan, his parents and other acquaintances died in a massacre called the tragedy of Duscur. Dimitri was born the crown prince of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus to King Lambert; his mother died from a plague ravaging the kingdom before he was older enough to remeber her. Lambert would eventually rmarry to a woman named Patricia, who was actually Anselma von Arundel, former consort of Adrestian Emperor Ionius IX. During Patricia's time in Faerghus, Dimitir formed a close relationship with his new step-sister, Patricia's daughter Edelgard, who taught him how to dance. When Edelgard and her mother returned to the Empire, Dimitir gave her a dagger as a gift.
