Kei Tsukishima (Japanese: Tsukishima Kei) is a first—year senior Karasuno player who plays as a central blocker. He is currently a college student, as well as a central blocker for the Division 2 team in the V League, and after graduating from college he will start working at the Sendai City Museum. He has an older brother, also a volleyball player, Akiteru Tsukishima. Tsukishima is very tall and has an average build for a volleyball player. Despite the fact that he is only a freshman, Kei is the tallest player in Karasuno. He has short, slightly disheveled blond hair, golden eyes and pale skin. Tsukishima can often be seen frowning or with a malicious grin on his face. After joining the Karasuno volleyball team, during the games Kei wears the Karasuno uniform with the number 11, black knee pads and white sneakers with green stripes. He is also the only player in Karasuno's team who wears glasses. After chapter 109 of the manga, Tsukishima began wearing special sports glasses given by his brother.

Outside of games and training, Tsukishima wears a black gakuran, a Karasuno men's uniform, and headphones around his neck. The brand of these headphones seems to be "Somi", which represents the brand name "Sony". He has been seen wearing various shirts with half moons on them, which play under his name "Tsukishima", where "tsuki" means "moon". Personality Tsukishima is a conservative Japanese of traditional upbringing. A terrible formalist, he addresses everyone except his peers and family as "you".
