Previously she went by the pseudonym Spider-Woman before changing it to her current one since she believes that 'death follows her everywhere'.

Gwenpool is a vigilante on Earth-TRN565 who became a hero after being brought in by the well-known 'Merc With a Mouth' Deadpool. Like the one who brought her in, she is well aware of the fact that she is a fictional character and uses it to her advantage as her main weapon.
