Shusuke Amagai

Shūsuke Amagai has a somewhat disheveled appearance, with unkempt hair and facial stubble. He is a tall and muscular Shinigami with chin-length dark purple hair. Unlike his predecessor, he wears a long-sleeved haori. Aside from an extra sheath and a strange paper he keeps in the folds of his clothing, he wears a standard Shinigami uniform. While posing as an ally, Amagai was quite friendly and good-natured. Despite his law-abiding nature, he is willing to bend the rules to find the truth.[3] Decisive, charismatic, and with a strong moral compass, he quickly proves himself to be a capable leader and earns the respect of his subordinates, most notably Lieutenant Izuru Kira, who was initially distrustful of Shūsuke.[4] Amagai is very sensitive to alcohol, becoming drunk even from food that contains a small amount of alcohol, and acting strangely simply from inhaling sake fumes.[3] Although initially looked down upon by his squadmates, Amagai's methods and ethics eventually earn their respect. Shusuke also promotes teamwork and coordination between individual soldiers. He used these methods in the reconnaissance unit and promotes them in his new unit.[4] In reality, Amagai is a much more cruel man. His nature is very deceptive. He manipulated all the events that occurred in the Kasumiōji clan with complete indifference to the lives of the people involved.
