Brok is a green, yellow-eyed reptile from the order Crocodilia. Despite the title, he doesn't know if he's an alligator or a crocodile and identifies with either species. He is wearing a leather jacket with a black shirt underneath and a pair of bright blue jeans. He is also wearing two items of great significance to him: a purple fedora given to him by his stepson Graff when they moved into their current home and a heptamide necklace that used to be owned by his wife Lia. He doesn't wear shoes and his three-toed feet are inconsistent throughout the game, sometimes having yellow soles and sometimes not. Coming from a boxing background, Brok is strong and agile for his size and weight. He is highly maneuverable in hand-to-hand combat and is capable of throwing powerful punches and kicks in the air, but can also use blunt weapons (such as his grandfather's stick) with great force. He can also use his tail as a whip and can charge up a special attack that allows him to throw dozens of punches in the span of a few seconds. Since boxing rings were banned, he continues to train with virtual reality fights in the dark parts of Triweb. As a detective, he also possesses remarkable deductive skills, although his investigative methods can be surprising or even downright controversial. He also long ago developed a unique natural immunity to the mist, allowing him to live without the daily dose of Toxout pills.

personality

The game features a moral compass represented by Brains and Violence points. The former increases by correctly solving puzzles and interrogations, as well as performing morally positive actions, and decreases by getting answers wrong or being foolish; the latter increases by forcing Brok to fight his way through and perform amoral actions, and it is very rare for the Violence score to drop, especially by performing morally positive actions. The ratio of points between these two variables causes Brok to make a crucial decision in the final chapter, but other than this, there is no particular impact on Brok's personality. Brok is a proud and polite man, but can also easily become defiant and provoke people who might get in his way or perceive them as having bad intentions. He also perceives himself as a Slumer rather than a Drumer, despite marrying a Drumer, as noted by Graff. However, he can be quite prone to violent outbursts which include hitting people, from strangers to even his loved ones for no apparent reason, threatening aggressively enough to terrify people, and even going so far as to want to snap someone's neck. Chief Snitch, who seems to know him despite Brok having no memory of him, taunts Brok by saying that he is hiding "a vicious side to him". It is possible that after Lia's death, that maniacal part of him remained dormant and inhibited by the loss of his memories and they seem to resurface when he enjoys fighting street thugs.

Brok is also quite sentimental. He can sympathize with criminals and support others even if it crosses personal boundaries and often reflects back on his actions. He is also very protective of those he loves, especially Graff. If he sees someone else hurting Graff, he can be quick to strike back multiple times to protect his stepson.
