Taehyun met Beomgyu when he was nine and Beomgyu six, they were a couple since Taehyun was twelve and Beomgyu nine until he was fifteen (Taehyun) and twelve (Beomgyu), currently Taehyun is nineteen and Beomgyu sixteen. They were very happy during all the time they dated, but things took another turn when suddenly Beomgyu started to make excuses not to go out with Taehyun and Taehyun started to get fed up with that, but he had to understand Beomgyu since he was still too young, they broke up because Taehyun couldn't stand any more excuses and Beomgyu decided to let him go since he knew that because of his parents he couldn't spend time with his boyfriend, when they broke up Taehyun dated a girl for a year and Beomgyu simply decided not to have any more relationships since if his parents got involved he would get into big trouble. When Taehyun and Beomgyu were still dating, there were times when Taehyun noticed that Beomgyu went to class with bruises or looked too tired, but every time Taehyun asked Beomgyu if something was wrong, he got too nervous and excused himself by saying that he hurt himself while playing or something like that.

Taehyun's parents love their son, but Beomgyu's parents hate their son and always point it out to him at the slightest opportunity or blow. Taehyun is an only child so his entire childhood was raised by his parents and Beomgyu, in exchange for Beomgyu who has a six-year-old younger sister (Hana) and a twenty-year-old older brother (Jisung), Jisung knew about Taehyun and Beomgyu's relationship so thanks to him the two of them could see each other from time to time, when they were still together. Taehyun has always been sociable at school and has three best friends, Soobin, Yeonjun, and Hueningkai, who are all the same age. Beomgyu has never had any close friends, but he has a friend named Bahiyyih who is the same age as him (Hueningkai's sister) and a friend named Sunghoon who is seventeen.
