Shirou Ogami is one of the protagonists of the anime BNA: Brand New Animal. He is a werewolf and a defender of the beastmen, serving as the guardian of Anima City, a city created to protect these creatures. Serious in nature, cold and somewhat reserved, Shirou is extremely powerful and has a great ability to regenerate, making him a formidable opponent. His devotion towards protecting the beastmen comes from a deep resentment towards humans, as in the past he suffered a great tragedy that led him to become the last survivor of his species. Throughout the series, Shirou partners with Michiru Kagemori, a human girl who mysteriously transforms into a tanuki. Together, they work to uncover the truth behind the conspiracies affecting Anima City and its inhabitants. Though initially wary of Michiru, Shirou develops a connection with her, which helps him reconsider some of his extreme stances on humans. Shirou is very loyal and shows a strong moral compass, but his harsh character and painful past make him a character full of internal conflicts.
