Betty Grof was Simon's fiancée and their relationship was very mutually effective. Simon loved her with all his being, and their relationship was one of the most important pillars in Simon's life. However, as the effects of the corona began to manifest, his relationship with Betty began to falter. One of the saddest moments in Simon's life occurred when the curse of the crown began to seriously affect him.

One of the most shocking moments of Simon and Betty's arc occurs in the final episodes of Adventure Time, during the final episode Come Along With Me. Betty makes one last desperate attempt to save Simon by using the power of Golb, a God who could destroy everything with a move, even Simon's curse. However, in her attempt to save Simon, Betty sacrifices herself, fusing with Golb to stop the destruction he had caused, leaving Simon with a deep void but taking away the power of the crown from him.
