Appearance and Personality

Vanessa, despite her outward appearance, is a kind and compassionate woman who is far from incapable of being friendly and courteous. She has since formed a close bond with John Clare after meeting him while working at the cholera shelter. She spoke to John Clare about falling in love and religion, complimented his eyes, shares with him a fascination with poetry, taught him how to dance, and sadly declined his invitation to leave London with him forever, as she did not want her friend to be a burden to her. She is one of the few, if not the only, people who was not cowed by his appearance, was not bothered by his cold touch, and treated him with genuine kindness. She is also quite friendly with Dr. Victor Frankenstein, as he trusted her to help him buy suitable clothing for Lily and even introduced him to Lily for the first time. In her interaction with the doctor, Vanessa displays a capacity for playful banter. Vanessa trusted Victor enough to give him and only him the address of where she and Ethan would stay in case they needed her and reminded him to be patient with Lily before they left. She has strong feelings for Ethan Chandler, as she has repeatedly made it clear that she is more than willing to accept him for who and what he is. She wanted him to stay with her after surviving the battle with Mrs. Poole and her coven, remembering the comfort Vanessa felt with Ethan by her side. She assured him that he would feel better about himself as she felt with him. The memory of the tragic death of Joan Clayton, the wife of Ballentree Moor, who took her in and accepted her in a time of great need, pushed Vanessa to do the unthinkable and use the darkest of magic to avenge her former mentor. History

Vanessa was born into a wealthy family, that of Gordon and Claire Ives, neighbours of the Murray family. As a child, she had a very close relationship with Mina, a girl from the Murray family, a relationship with a bond closer than that of a sister. Vanessa also had a close relationship with Mina's older brother, Peter Murray, whom she intended to marry when she was older. Vanessa's innocence was forever shattered when she witnessed one of Sir Malcolm and his mother's sexual escapades, and this became the start of a bitter feud between the two families. She grew to resent Mina for all her good fortune and began to demonstrate some scandalous habits, having kissed Peter out of character and having a sexual escapade with Mina's fiancé. Her downward spiral became more apparent when she fell victim to possession by an evil spirit, eventually leading to her mother's death. Vanessa spent a considerable amount of time with Joan Clayton, the wife of Ballentree Moor, a witch who began teaching her the ways of the daywalkers. She came to have a deep bond with her mentor, to such an extent that Vanessa walked with Joan as she was led to the tree in front of her hut to be burned alive due to the machinations of Evelyn Poole. Joan reciprocated this by leaving the shack and everything in it to Vanessa and preparing her for the upcoming battle against those who come at night. In 1891, Vanessa visited the Wildwest Show and became interested in its leading actor, Ethan Chandler. Intending to hire him as an armed assistant, she met him in a bar and offered him a night job. Vanessa wanted to get her friend Mina back by starting a group to rescue her with Sir Malcolm.

Verbis Devil: Vanessa has learned to fluently speak the Devil's tongue despite being taught very little by Joan Clayton. She has since used the language to banish a Nightcomer that attacked her and Ethan (repeating the same spell when she was attacked in her home), command Sir Geoffrey Hawkes's hunting dogs to tear him to death (the only time she is shown reading it from a book), and defeat the fallen angel housed in a fetish made in her likeness in the final battle against the Nightcomers. She has recently used the Verbis Diablo once again, this time to banish Lucifer and Dracula from her mind while in a hypnotic trance. Apotropaic Magic: The practice of creating mystical barriers to block out evil. Vanessa used her own personal scorpion totem, painted in her own blood around the mansion to protect it. Hecate Poole was the only one seen, notably in the penultimate episode of season two, to have breached her defenses.

She was also the only one in the group with prior knowledge of the Nightcomers and who spoke Verbis Diablo. • Marksmanship: Vanessa has demonstrated surprising skill in handling firearms, capable of knocking down bottles at a distance and in the air, all on her first attempt and with considerable accuracy.

Dorian Gray is an incredibly wealthy young gentleman who is almost unnerving in his beauty. An aesthete with a reckless abandon, his carefree attitude borders on the dangerous. He has attained an exceptional level of knowledge through his numerous travels and exploits, but he continues to seek out new challenges, driven by an insatiable hunger for new experiences and feelings. Nothing seems to faze him, nor are the risks too great. In fact, he is unnaturally drawn to them. He also takes a particular interest in Vanessa Ives, perhaps sensing their shared immersion in the supernatural. Dorian had light brown eyes, straight light brown hair, white skin, a slightly toned body and was 1.89 meters tall.

History

Dorian is a bored, wealthy gentleman when he hires Brona Croft for a pornographic photo shoot. When even the orgies organised at his grand mansion begin to lose their charm for him, the young man begins to look around for new stimuli. At a soiree organised by Ferdinand Lyle, Dorian's attention is caught by Vanessa Ives, with whom he flirts throughout the evening. Intrigued by the woman, Dorian begins to court her after they meet several times by accident, such as when they both attend a performance at the Grand Guignol Theatre. After a night of gambling at an illegal dive bar, Dorian and Ethan Chandler share a glass of absinthe at Dorian's mansion and seduce each other. A subsequent night of passion between Dorian and Vanessa Ives unleashes the latent monstrosity within him. After recovering from the ordeal, she ends the budding relationship, leaving him heartbroken. Perhaps it was her first heartbreak.

Immortality: After his soul was trapped in a painting, Dorian gained immortality. He does not age and appears to be immune to all conventional diseases, ailments, viruses, and infections. • Regeneration: Dorian heals quickly, but still feels the pain of a wound before it heals. He has been seen to fully recover from stab wounds. It seems he needs to be in the presence of this painting for it to absorb his affliction. • Marksmanship: Dorian proves to be an impressive marksman, able to casually shoot several men in the head in less than a minute. • Intuitive Seduction: Dorian seemingly possesses impeccable seductive skills and an overwhelming charm that he can use to easily and efficiently seduce, charm, persuade, and manipulate anyone, be they of the same sex, opposite sex, or completely different. Dorian may also have an intuitive command of seductive and charismatic partners, speech, and body language, expertly sending out all the right signals of a most desirable partner, granting him great influence in any social situation and allowing him to easily wrap anyone around his little finger in a matter of moments.

Appearance and Personality

Sir Malcolm is a tough, cunning and intelligent man, a once jovial and enthusiastic explorer who has cooled down due to the anger and guilt he feels over the death of his son, the disappearance of his daughter and the estrangement of his wife. He is sometimes shown as a father figure to Vanessa, as the two have a mutual admiration and deep understanding for each other. However, it is clear, to some extent, that Malcolm has a dislike and disgust for Vanessa for her role in Mina's disappearance. These feelings are also mutual, as Vanessa has a low opinion of Malcolm: she describes him as vain, arrogant and hypocritical, having been far more interested in exploring and collecting trophies in Africa, consequently serving his ego, than in the well-being of his children. She also punishes him for his own infidelity through his affair with Vanessa's mother. His past actions are a major source of friction between the two, but Vanessa respects Malcolm because he is a shrewd strategist and a leader for others. Malcolm had greyish blue eyes, dark grey beard in some parts and light grey in others, grey hair, a large but not very defined body, 1.87 metres, peach skin.

History

Sir Malcolm Murray established himself as an explorer of the African continent, which ultimately put a strain on his marriage later in life after he fathered two children. While he became famous for his exploits abroad, he made matters worse on the home front by indulging in an affair. He not only lost his wife, but also his son and daughter. His son, not well suited for a hard life exploring Africa, was killed during his first expedition with Sir Malcolm, and his daughter was kidnapped years later by a vampire. It was this latter loss that led Sir Malcolm to take on the role of monster hunter, seeking out vampires in an effort to find and recover his daughter.

Hand-to-Hand Combat: Despite his age, Sir Malcolm is a capable fighter, able to hold his own in fights and defeat lesser vampires in a fight. • Marksmanship: Sir Malcolm is an excellent marksman with a pistol and was able to shoot Mina when she was using Vanessa as a shield. He is also an expert hunter who has participated in multiple hunts throughout Africa. Multilingual: Thanks to his travels, Sir Malcolm can speak several languages, including Arabic and Swahili. Knowledge: Sir Malcolm is a distinguished and respected scholar and author.

Appearance and Personality

Ethan is a charming American who finds himself trapped in the darkest corners of Victorian London. His charm and brash manners are like catnip to the ladies. However, the dashing, unkempt circus gunfighter persona he displays to the world is just an act. At heart, he is a kinder, more considerate man, possessing a stronger sense of morality than most of the other characters and taking little pleasure in the suffering or manipulation of others. He has the air of an older man, who has experienced many hardships. However, his sense of moral outrage in difficult circumstances makes him prone to outbursts of anger and violence. He has at times expressed a deep distrust, even dislike, towards characters such as Sir Malcolm Murray and Victor Frankenstein, whom he considers callous and amoral in comparison. However, he later develops a friendship of sorts with Victor, as the two bond when he is teaching Frankenstein to shoot. He continues to help Sir Malcolm to the end, despite his distrust of the man. Ethan had straight dark brown hair, a little beard, peach-colored skin, greenish brown eyes, a normal body and was 1.90 meters tall.

History

Ethan was born in 1857 to a wealthy family. At some point in his life, he served as a cavalryman in the wars against the American Indians and was involved in a brutal massacre in which troops eradicated an entire native village. Ethan later fled the United States after having murdered a senator's son and joined a circus in Europe, where he used his skills as a gunfighter to entertain small crowds.

Human Marksmanship: Ethan is an incredibly accurate marksman and worked as a marksman on a Wild West show. His skills are exceptional and allow him to handle pistols effectively in both hands. Hand-to-hand combat: Ethan is a competent fighter and manages to hold his own in hand-to-hand combat against infected vampires. He can also take on ordinary people fairly well, except when there are too many people against him. Theology: Despite claiming to be an atheist, Ethan has some knowledge of Catholicism and is fluent in Latin, being able to recite the prayer of St. Jude Thaddeus in full Latin (he claims he was raised on Latin). This proves useful to him, as it allowed him to exorcise the demon possessing Vanessa. Canine Affinity: Ethan displays a unique understanding of wolves and has caused the alpha male of a wolf pack to turn and take on an otherwise hostile pack. It is unclear if this is an extension of his status as a werewolf or if it is a result of his confident personality. • Multilingual: In addition to English and Latin, Ethan is fluent in Apache. Werewolf • Shapeshifting: Ethan transforms into a wolf-man hybrid when there is a full moon. Enhanced Strength: Ethan displays greatly enhanced strength when transformed. He can kill grown men with little to no effort. • Enhanced Agility: Ethan was shown to be able to kill and maim large numbers of humans in rapid succession, before they could react. • Enhanced Toughness: It has been implied that werewolves are extremely durable and that trauma from a silver weapon might be one of the few ways to kill one. • Wolf Physiology: In his wolf form, Ethan develops claws sharp enough to tear through living flesh and sharp canine fangs. • Lycanthropy: As a werewolf, Ethan can turn others into werewolves.

Dr. Victor Frankenstein is considered by some to be a tender and gentle soul, fascinated by life and death. He is considered to be a poet when it comes to describing his feelings towards the subject. He is highly intelligent and capable of showing kindness, but sometimes displays a darker nature, as he is arrogant and openly disdainful towards others, and is perceived as having a cold or "bloodless" attitude towards certain situations. He has dedicated himself to researching what makes something alive and has sacrificed everything for his scientific pursuit. Victor is an attractive man with dark hair, blue eyes (which are often red-rimmed), 1.87 meters tall and a slim body; he is in his twenties. He is addicted to morphine due to having been given a cocaine solution to treat his asthma that he suffered from as a child.

History

Victor Frankenstein was born into a wealthy family. Suffering from poor health, he spent his time with his mother, who passed on to him her passion for literature until her death. Young Victor developed a morbid curiosity about the mechanisms of death. At an appropriate age, he began attending university, where he and fellow student Henry Jekyll began research frowned upon by the faculty. Abandoning his studies, Frankenstein refined his experiments and succeeded in reviving a corpse. Disgusted by the creature he created, Victor fled, leaving his creation to its own misery. Upon arriving in London, he began working in a resurrectionist's morgue so that he could resume his studies and experiments on fresh corpses. During this period he revived a second, better-than-first creature, which was named Proteus after a Shakespearean character. While Victor intended to dissect an arm in the resurrectionist's slaughterhouse, he was approached by Sir Malcolm, Miss Ives, and Ethan Chandler and asked to perform an autopsy on a mysterious corpse, which immediately captivated the young surgeon's attention. The young doctor was then invited to join the group, bringing benefits to the fight against the evil creatures with his medical knowledge because, according to Sir Malcolm, Victor was not afraid to lift the skin and look beneath it. As Victor became more and more integrated into the group, his first creation returned and killed Proteus in a fit of jealousy, threatening Victor with making his life a living hell and forcing the doctor to create for him an immortal girlfriend.

Medicine: Frankenstein is a doctor by profession, with knowledge in several fields of medicine, including pharmaceutical and psychological disorders. He is able to treat wounds and illnesses, prescribe medications, and perform blood transfusions. However, he acknowledges that hematology is not his specialty, but he does possess some skill in that field as well. • Surgical skills: Frankenstein is first and foremost a trained surgeon, capable of performing operations and autopsies. His surgical skills are best displayed in his creation of the creature, which he literally stitched together from different body parts. Scientific knowledge: Although his PhD is in medicine, Frankenstein's knowledge extends to other sciences. He has a particular interest in electrical engineering as a means of artificially boosting bioelectrical processes in body tissues. • Marksmanship: Although he starts out unskilled in combat, in "Possession" Frankenstein asks Ethan to teach him how to shoot, and he begins to show progress. Thus, he manages to kill some infected vampires in the skirmish.

Appearance and Personality

Brona is a poor Irish immigrant in Victorian London trying to escape a dark and sordid past. The Gaelic meaning of her name is "sadness," but she remains charming, vivacious, and erotically alive. She forms a bond with Ethan Chandler, who will do anything for her. Her beautiful appearance is marred by the marks of tuberculosis, a disease (known at the time as consumption) for which there is no cure for the poor. Since Brona's "rebirth" as Lily at the hands of Victor Frankenstein, her personality has undergone a drastic change. As Lily Frankenstein, she was at first polite and courteous, but then a darker, more violent character began to emerge. Brona quickly deduced the circumstances of her resurrection, with Victor as her creator, but kept that knowledge to herself. Watching how society and its men mistreat and despise women, her anger was fueled. Accepting her power as an immortal and her position as a woman, she channeled her rage into dominating and killing the men she attracted. She vowed to never again kneel to any man, except them to her. Now, enlightened, she seeks to bring about a new era led by immortals. She had brown eyes, blonde hair, a not so defined body and was 1.65 meters tall.

History

Brona is known to have been living in Belfast. She was engaged to a brutal shipyard worker who abused her. After a brutal beating, she ran to her mother for support, but was instead told to go back and marry the brute. Instead, she ran away and exploited herself for the first time. After settling in London, Brona gave birth to a baby girl. She did what she could to support herself and her baby, but times were hard and selling her body on the streets meant long absences from her daughter. On one particularly cold night, she was savagely beaten by a customer and left for dead. When she regained consciousness later that night, she rushed home, only to discover that her baby had been left alone for too long and had frozen to death after the coal fire she kept unattended had gone out. While renting a room at the Mariner's Inn by the Thames, she met Ethan Chandler, with whom she struck up an intimate relationship despite her fragile health due to the onset of consumption. She continued to work as a prostitute and accepted a job as a nude model offered to her by Dorian Gray, with whom she had sex after discovering that he was not afraid of her illness. Ethan and Brona went to the Grand Guignol Theatre, where they met Dorian Gray and Vanessa Ives. Apparently upset by Ethan and Vanessa's relationship (which she perceived as more than just a colleague friendship), she stormed off, and when Ethan confronted her, she proceeded to leave him, calling herself a living skeleton. Shortly afterward, she collapsed in the street, coughing up blood where she fell. Although Brona reneged on her words to Ethan the next morning, her illness was rapidly worsening. Ethan called upon Doctor Victor Frankenstein in an effort to save her life, but Victor knew she was beyond his help. Instead, he saw a different use for her: Brona would be the "raw material" from which he could build a

bride for his Creature. While Ethan went to get some water, Frankenstein hastened Brona's death by suffocating her with a pillow. When Ethan returned, he told him that Brona had died gracefully. He offered to take care of the removal of the body once Ethan had mourned her. Brona's corpse was later moved to Frankenstein's laboratory, where he showed her to the Creature, who seemed pleased with the appearance of his future wife. Victor then began the surgical procedures that would allow for her reanimation. She met Dorian Gray at the ball he threw for Angelique, and after he died, she joined Dorian and left Victor to put her plan for a female revolution into action. She and Dorian rescued Justine from captivity to become the first of her followers. Soon the pair had increased their numbers even further, attracting a much larger group of women from the dispossessed and scorned ladies of the night. These Lily inspired to find unfaithful men and cut off their right hands, but Dorian by this point had grown bored with Lily's machinations and indulged in a temporary alliance with Victor to have her transferred to the doctor's care. Together they took her to Bedlam where Victor, with the help of Dr. Henry Jekyll, tried to tame her anger with the treatments they had been developing together.

Speed: He was able to run over a hundred miles per hour, so fast that the human eye cannot see him. When vampires run they become "almost invisible" SENSES Vision: While running, a vampire can see and sense everything around them, allowing them to keep control of their surroundings and avoid running into anything unnecessarily. A vampire's vision is unmatched. Everything is much sharper and more defined, their vision not hindered by darkness. Colors are much more vibrant and they can distinguish a new color that they could not see as humans. Any human memories they have are considered blurry, like seeing through mud, this is because those memories were had with human eyes. Hearing: Vampires can hear the faintest sounds. They can also hear things that humans cannot, such as the sound of a heartbeat, a pulse pulsing in a vein, and words spoken too softly or too quickly from miles away. Touch: They can feel the heat radiating from a human being several meters away Sixth Sense: Vampires also have a keen sense of danger, usually sensing something strong enough to harm them. Sometimes, they can even sense danger before consciously realizing it. Poison: With just one bite you can turn a vampire into a vampire in just 3 weeks Skin: Its skin is extremely hard and cold, and it could shine in sunlight.
