Denji (デンジ?) is the main character of Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga series Chainsaw Man. Following the death of his father, Denji inherits a huge debt to the yakuza. His life is turned upside down when he meets the chainsaw demon Pochita, prompting him to become a demon hunter in hopes of repaying his debt. However, the yakuza kill him, and Pochita becomes his heart, sealing a pact with Denji, who yearns for an ordinary existence. From then on, by pulling a cord on his chest, he takes the form of the human-demon hybrid known as Chainsaw Man (チェンソーマン Chensō Man?). As a demon hunter of the Special Public Security Division, he joins the members of the Tokyo 4th Special Division in fighting the gun demon, while also pursuing his own personal interests.
