Painwhel (Carol)

Painwheel's personality tends to be initially confused at first glance; from her appearance, she is in the form of a monster and expects to kill and harm at the command of Valentine, Brain Drain, and her creators. However, it was revealed that Painwheel was able to maintain control of her mind over Brain Drain and was able to think and act for herself. She has a far-reaching hatred towards Valentine and the ASG Labs and judging by her lists of dislikes, she also dislikes people and her own body. This could be from a rough past of bullying, as her appearance was a result of low self-esteem, though another possibility is the monstrous transformation she has been put through. After defeating Marie and destroying the Skull Heart, Painwheel goes home to see her parents (in her current monstrous form) hoping that they would still accept her as their daughter, however the parents are horrified at the sight of her and run away because of her appearance. The heartbroken and dejected Painwheel powers down and confronts Brain Drain, only to have his rage fueled even further by the sight of him. Aside from all of Painwheel's hateful attributes she enjoys peaceful and beautiful things like flowers, dogs, and walking on the beach during sunset. Painwheel underwent changes as revealed in Filia's Story as she is shown to be very positive and happy about starting over and getting a new career in life (thanks to Filia's will) and was glad to see her new class telling them it was a pleasure to meet them. Instead of living with her parents, she lives in the ASG labs, where she is actually happy there. Afterwards Painwheel and Filia watch the sunset together. All in all, Painwheel is a very kind girl who just wants a normal life. As a result of these experiments, she is violent and unstable, so as a precaution she is placed under the mind control of Brain Drain. She is no longer Carol, she is now the Painwheel.
