Ulf the White, also known as Ulf the Drunkard or simply White, was a man-at-arms on Dragonstone during the Dance of the Dragons period. He was one of the dragonseeds.

APPEARANCE

Ulf had white hair and was known for drinking. He could neither read nor write.

HISTORY

When Prince Jacaerys Velaryon called for dragon-tamer men in 129 AC, Ulf was able to ride Silverwing. He fought valiantly alongside Prince Jacaerys at the Battle of the Gullet, and was subsequently knighted by Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen. After receiving his knighthood, he took the name Ulf the White. When Prince Daemon suggested that House Baratheon and House Lannister should be destroyed entirely for their support of King Aegon II Targaryen, he proposed granting Storm's End to Ulf, but after Lord Corlys Velaryon opposed the idea, Rhaenyra rejected the suggestion. At some point, Ulf was named Lord of Bitterbridge by Prince Daemon. In 130 AC, during the First Battle of Tumbleton, Ulf, along with fellow dragonseed Hugh Hammer, defected to the greens. They became known as the Two Traitors for this act. Ulf desired to take Highgarden as his seat, not considering Bitterbridge sufficient. During his time at Tumbleton, he took over the Obscene Badger Inn as his own. The Caltrops conspired to kill Ulf and Hugh Hammer. Lord Unwin Peake had warrants for their execution, signed by Prince Daeron Targaryen.[1] The day the Caltrops planned to attack, the Second Battle of Tumbleton occurred. Ulf survived the battle, sleeping through all attempts to wake him. When he learned that Hugh Hammer had died during the battle, Ulf informed Lord Peake that he would claim the throne. The next day, Ser Hobert Hightower brought Ulf two casks of wine, one Dornish red and one Arbor gold. As Ulf preferred the sweeter vintage, the Arbor gold had been spiked with poison. Suspicious of Hobert's behavior, Ulf ordered the red wine set aside and only dared to drink the poisoned Arbor gold after he had seen Hobert drink it alone. After Hobert asked for a second mug, Ulf drank three mugs and soon fell down, lifeless.
